Aural Only: Ellie Goulding

Last night a DJ saved my life. Well, actually it was yesterday morning. And it wasn't so much a DJ as a fellow blogger who tipped me off on this amazing new song from English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding. It's called "Starry Eyed", and it'll be following in the footsteps of her last single "Under The Sheets" by making a debut on tomorrow's Weekly Top Ten.

The song was produced by Starsmith, who you may know from his remixes of Lady Gaga, Mika, Little Boots and Marina & The Diamonds. But even if you have no idea who this guy is, you should definitely check out this song. You're probably tired of me comparing people to Kate Bush, but this one's seriously pulling off an ethereal vibe that would make the "Running Up That Hill" singer proud. Also, isn't it refreshing to hear a pop star who doesn't desperately want to be Lady Gaga?

  1. I like this more than anything else of her’s I’ve heard, but still find her voice just a bit annoying/boring…..but less so with this one.

  2. The video maybe new but this song is old. It was actually the first song I’ve heard from her.
    Anyways, props!
