Aural Only: Doll & The Kicks

The tracks that we’ve heard are somewhere in between legitimate talent and “trying too hard”, but we can totally see how someone could become obsessed with them.

Lead singer Doll has gained comparisons to Gwen Stefani, and you can probably understand why after listening to their single “Roll Up The Red Carpet”. Oh, and did we mention that they did a cover of Ke$ha‘s “Tik Tok”? I’m just going to keep my mouth shut when it comes to that.

  1. I’m gonna suggest….The Distillers, The Cliks, Feist, Imogen Heap, Ingrid Michaelson, and The Young Veins…that last group was made by two people from Panic! At The Disco, Ryan Ross an Jon Walker. Their sound is very Beach Boys-esque and it’s perfect for summer I think.

speaking of Tik-Tok parodies…have you seen The Midnight Beast’s version?
