Aural Only: Christina Perri

Apparently people can get recording contracts after being featured on an episode of So You Think You Can Dance? At least that’s the story behind singer-songwriter Christina Perri and her breakout single “Jar of Hearts”.

Two of the show’s contestants choreographed a dance for her song, and the audience response was so overwhelming that the producers invited her to perform it live on stage. Now it seems the tune’s selling like hotcakes on iTunes, currently sandwiched between huge pop hits such as B.o.B.‘s “Airplanes” and Travis McCoy‘s “Billionaire”. But does it have potential to be your “Song of Summer“?

  1. Beautiful song, incredible personal, passionate lyrics. And “So You Think You Can Dance” is the best “Reality” show on TV…very special young and amazingly-talented, beautiful people.

  2. The song is really good, I already downloaded it…I think its pretty good that a talent like hers can be showcased on a national showcase

  3. I think it is a beautiful song with powerful lyrics…now, if somone with a trained voice who could actually SING would record it, it would be more “listenable”…I cannot stand to listen to mousy singers who do not have vocal training….my personal “pet peeve”…
