ANTM: Margherita Missoni

I love it when Tyra Banks goes into Oprah mode. This tends to happen on any episode of America’s Next Top Model where the girls are flown overseas, and last night was certainly no exception. As she sat in a gondola in Venice, California throwing a diva fit, her crazy ramblings could only be interpreted as, “Look under your seats! BECAUSE YOU’RE ALL GOING TO ITALY!!”

Once the models reached their sort-of final destination, they posed on a boat with some hot dude pretending to be Casanova. A few moments later, the six remaining contestants were sent off to Milan, where they got a first look at their new apartment. It was smaller than the model houses on previous cycles, and GASP… there were futons in place of a few beds.

Instead of admitting the CW cut her budget, Tyra made up some bullshit excuse about showing the girls how real models live. Blah blah blah, Margherita Missoni! Let’s just cut to the pictures, okay? The details aren’t that important…

FULL GROUP SHOTS (USED FOR JUDGING):

Liz, Chris and Kayla

Jane, Chelsey and Ann

___________________________________________________________

1. KAYLA (LW – 4): When Kayla is anounced as the winner, this is the picture that will appear on the screen. Well, maybe not this particular shot, but perhaps a close-up of her face in the group shot. She’s looking absolutely radiant! Except, what do we think about this quote? “I could get used to living a fabulous life. I mean, I’m gay. That’s what we’re used to.” Yup, as soon as you come out of the closet, your life immediately becomes fabulous and glamorous. We’re glad you cleared that up for the straight folks…

2. JANE (LW – 2): Without any doubt, Jane is one of the most traditionally beautiful contestants in this competition. And now for a list of reasons why she won’t win. For starters, she’s a rich girl from an Ivy League school, and America loves reality stars who’ve been through a struggle. Next, her portfolio isn’t strong from start to finish. And finally? She may be too pretty for high fashion. THE END.

3. CHELSEY (LW – 3): Poor Chelsey! For all her hard work, she hasn’t once been voted to the top of the pack, and it’s just thrown into her face week after week. At the very least, she can stop openly expressing disdain towards Ann. She’s defeated her for two weeks in a row!

4. ANN (LW – 6): It’s amazing how good Ann looked, despite the fact that she looked absolutely clueless on set. I got worried towards the beginning of the episode, when she mentioned twice that she’s rarely traveled outside of Texas. Usually that’s a sign that a girl’s going home, but the producers tricked us yet again!

5. CHRIS (Bottom Two, LW – 1): Chris continues to deliver in the personality department, but she’s still not cutting it as a high fashion model. Aside from her frightened expression, this was almost a good shot. Emphasis on almost. While I love her more than any of the other contestants, I think she needs to consider another career path. Maybe acting?

6. LIZ (Eliminated, LW – 5): Karma! That’s what I thought when a bird pooped on Liz. Her incessant whining stopped being entertaining eight episodes ago, and I love that Chelsey designated her as “Ms. Complaining Champion”. Also, can we talk about how she heard Mulan instead of Milan? This bitch thought they were going to China!

  1. I was surprised Liz was eliminated. I guess they got all the mileage they could out of her welfare stories. She certainly did complain a lot (or was edited that way). I don’t know why they are keeping chris. Personality or not, could you imagine her in Italian Vogue? Top three will be Kayla, Ann, and Chelsey and Kayla will win. Tyra is ridiculous. I actually feel embarrassed for her watching her oprah-esque antics.

  2. 15 minutes into the show, I said to my partner Liz is G O N E.

Anne photographs will, and is great for editorial layouts, but she will NEVER make a dent as a spokes model because of her shy and awkward nature.

Kayla is AWESOME, but she really needs to get the hell over her issues with men. I realize that she was traumatized early in her life, but bitch needs to get over it if she wants to make a career off modeling, especially for high end fashion.

  3. Haha I love Chris and her fun attitude…I was so scared she might have been voted off; but nope, my girl is still in. I want her to go further, so she’s gotta get serious and push past that her cute teen look, cause though it may be sweet, it could be her downfall.

On another note I’m glad Liz is out, her complaining was just extra…I mean seriously, how many complaints can a person have…geez

  4. “I could get used to living a fabulous life. I mean, I’m gay. That’s what we’re used to.” …………. SERIOUSLY!??! Wow! I mean, I can’t say my life has been horrible, but…. FABULOUS?!?! All gays have fabulous lives?!?! Get a clue, woman!

  5. Kayla made a weird comment. But I still love her. This show isn’t about the comments they make no matter how much the comments can hurt their careers. It’s about their skill to model and who’s got what it takes to be in Italian Vogue. In my opinion, Kayla does it for me.

  6. tbh,
Jane, Chelsey and Ann are the only high fashion girls left in the competition.

Kayla is way tooo overrated. Okay, you’re gay we get it Okay??!

  7. @Jeffo –you are absolutely right
“This show isn’t about the comments they make no matter how much the comments can hurt their careers.”

I’M NOT READY TO MAKE NICE. I’M NOT READY TO BACK DOWN. -LOL
