Album Review: Don’t Stop by Annie

Originally slated for an April 2008 release, Norwegian pop-singer Annie's sophomore album Don't Stop has finally made its way to the states. But was it worth the wait? Considering that the majority of the album's tracks leaked over a year ago, the answer is still "yes". If you were a fan of Annie's 2004 album Anniemal, you'll cream your pants over Don't Stop. It's just as good, if not better.

Since there are so few to count, let's start with the negatives, particularly the exclusion of excellent singles like "I Know UR Girlfriend Hates Me", "Two of Hearts" and "Anthonio". Now that we've gotten that out of the way, we've pretty much covered all of the album's negatives.

Just like Annie's debut, Don't Stop is the type of album you can turn on at a party and leave on through its entirety. Yes, there are some slow jams like "When The Night" and "Take You Home" in the mix, but they're perfect for awkward '80s inspired slow dances. When Annie delivers jams, she brings them in such an irresistible way that you can't help moving. So what are you waiting for? Make the first move and buy this damn album.

  1. Couldn’t agree more. I just bought the song “my love is better” and like any good electro-pop fan leaped out of bed in my briefs and started shaking my bum just like the cameron diaz scene in charlies angles. 🙂
