Kristine W: “Everything That I Got”

For some reason, I got it lodged in my brain that Kristine W‘s upcoming album is called New Number Ones. My initial reaction was, “Wow! Only Kristine W would have the audacity to just assume every song she makes will become a number one hit.”

Turns out, the album’s actually called New & Number Ones, and it wouldn’t have been entirely off base for Kristine to make that assumption. The dance floor queen has achieved 16 number one hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs charts since 1994’s classic “Feel What You Want”. While several of these tracks provide the foundation for New & Number Ones, it should be noted that this isn’t your standard, masturbatory vanity project.

Kristine goes the extra mile. Rather than give fans a laundry list of songs they (most likely) already own, she offers up a stellar collection of vamped-up remixes by dance music’s hottest producers. When you throw in future number one dance hits like “Everything That I Got”, you’ve got a must-have playlist for anyone who is or ever has been a club kid.

The 16-track single for “Everything That I Got” is also worth checking out. I’m particularly fond of the Subgroover remix (which I may or may not have bought before I finished writing this post). GIVE A GIRL A HOLLA!

  1. It’s sad that she hasn’t taken over the mainstream with her talent. People with a sliver of her talent are making a fortune off weak music and Kristine is always pushing herself in new directions. I’ll definitely buy this disc!!! Keep up the good work. PS…please perform somewhere near Oklahoma City so your fans can appreciate you in person. 🙂
