Hot or Not: Tans & Tanning

There are advantages and disadvantages to tanning. It’s been said that a nice tan will bring out your muscle tone. A little sun goes a long way, putting a smile on your face, giving you a nice dose of Vitamin D and [insert other benefit because we’re no experts on this matter]. On the flip side? There’s that whole “skin cancer” issue.

With summer upon us, now seemed like a perfect time to have this discussion. Are you a fan of a man with a tan? Does the sight of another guy’s golden/brown/orange skin make you want him more? And on a different note, what’s your personal policy on tanning?

  1. I have to say, I find tanning unattractive. Not only is habitual tanning unhealthy, it also says a guy is too much into himself.

  4. Being Cuban, I tan VERY easily, but honestly I don’t like tans on the men I date … I’m REALLY attracted to pale skin and light eyes.

    I guess opposites do attract.

I don’t need a guy to have a tan to find him hot – there are PLENTY of pale guys that are sexy as hell.  True, tans are very attractive, but those guys are gonna be the ones with issues down the road…and that leathery skin won’t be as sexy in 10, 20+ years.  Nor will that wrinkly weenie for those that tan ALL their bits!

    The guy here is a bit “beefy” for my taste to begin with, but I think he’s TOO tan – has that “I spend too much time in the tanning bed” look.

  7. Spray tans are the worst, you can tell this guy spray tans. YUCK. I agree with haha, it has too look natural, plus some guys just look better pale.

  10. Tan yes, but, not un-naturally dark, with a tanline (white butt so, I can find him in the dark 😉 is a total turn-on for me !! 

  11. Well I like both tan and pale… Spray tan dose not look good on anyone it has to all natural tan … I am from Canada and every time in the summer I get a natural tan and I love the way it looks plus I am native so it helps ..

  12. Being a carmel colored African American who gets tanned as well when I spend to much time outside I don’t mind some guys who tan. There is an exception to this rule. I blonde haired blue eyed guy with a overly dark tan is a definate deal breaker. I agree with one of the oter posters above that years down the road when your skin looks like dried cow hide maybe you wish you hadn’t spent so much time sun bathing or in the tanning salon. Then theres that pesky melanoma thing.

    I also agree that tan line can be hot but not on everyone.

  14. speaking for myself, if i ever encounter this “Cort” fellow, as depicted in the above photo spread, i would eye•fuck him.

    and if this “Cort” fellow is crafty enough to benote what goes on in my mind, regarding him, through my eyes, he would certainly know that he has a Mouth to use, in me.

  16. Natural tans from being in the sun is hot. Guys who get a tan from working out in the sun like construction is hot! The hot thing about them is tan lines! I love a dark torso and pale white ass! I remember back one summer while in college, I had a friend that worked outside all day. He’d get home from work, strip all his clothes off and walk right in front of me butt naked, with his upper body tan from the sun and ass white ass snow! I loved it. I made it my goal to be at his house everyday when he got off work!

    But guys who have pale skin (especially redheads) are hot as hell too!

  19. Tans can be very hot  ( like MSU said ) when they R natural  but all of these tanning beds & sprays just do not do it 4 me  . Imagine you are FUCKING  Cort tight hole and the spray isn’t quite dry

  21. a natural tan happens in shades of coloration when one is outside with or w/o sunscreen. I like that. It is the handsome healthy glow under the tan that shines through. The fake and bake is for beauty queens and weight lifter competions – it isolates the body muscle tone and fitness level for the camera – and under extreme light. So natural outdoor tan while running, playing tennis, etc – OK by me. Sexy!
    The uniform tan of this guy above? Unattractive. But if you have to do it – a bottle of toner is better then the beds. It’s just being in bed with a bed tanned body builder – I didn’t seem to find my interest as he didn’t look, feel or respond very naturally. It’s not everyone! Just my few experiences. Flaws are part of our humanity.
    Embrace them!

I can’t become attracted to people who go out of their way to tan, whether it be beds, spray-on or any other way.  I’m very pale and have a history of skin cancer of all types in my family, so I load up on sunscreen if I have to be outside for more than 10 min, and try to avoid being outside in general.  On top of that, due to my Celtic roots, my tan is less golden and more ruddy.

  25. My opinion…tans are HOTT…sun …tan…lol….anyways…a man with a REAL tan for me is fucking hott…the darker the man the better…and if he is latino or black…DAMN even better…

  26. God also made the ocean and beaches and sunshine and gave our bodies the possibility of tanning… light tan or dark tan he gave us the freedom to chose, and in moderation it’s how we absorb vitamin D and nice tan is my own personal antidepressant.

  27. Tans are ok if they’re done right. But one of the reasons I hate twinks is because so many of them think “Ooh….if I tan I look younger and therefore sexy.”No. Just….no. So many guys overdo it to the point where they look like leather carcasses. It’s highly unattractive.

  28. i love natural tans  with tan lines , hate the all over tans or the tiny triangle above the crack hate it ass cheeks are meant to be white  lol tan lines just make an ass look sooo sexy and hott  a muscular or toned guy with hott bathing suit  lines

  30. I particularly love exotic tan lines, like French cut bikinis or thongs. One thing about the video: Cort is sexy, but I don’t believe for a minute that he’s straight when he fingers his hole for the camera. The only time straight guys get their fingers near their holes is when they wipe their asses!

  32. I do love a good suntan but not when it looks like it came out of a bottle or from falling asleep in a tanning bed. Too much of anything is too much.

  33. I love a good tan since I prefer darker, brown eyed, black haired men anyway. And tans on a redhead or blonde are way hot. Hotter still are those Latinos, Mediterranean types, and black men who are born with a natural tan. BUT – I don’t turn anyone away except for those whose skin looks like the belly of a beached whale. Maybe not even then as long as they’re well built. Sigh! I wonder if I’m just a whore at heart. Well, it is Manhunt, after all.

  38. saying that people should embrace who they are and the way that God made them is narrow minded and short sighted??…and wanting to protect yourself from cancer when you have a history of it in your family is being narrow minded and short sighted??  I think you might want to rethink that one.

    no rational person would ever say to another, “in the name of beauty, go and bake your skin to the point of developing malignancies upon it.”

    that should be obvious.

    additionally, if God didn’t want people to tan..
    ..well, he would not have designed our skin to do so.

    again: it’s all about moderation.

  40. too much of a tan and I’m turned off…even if it covers the entire body like the model up there…ugh. I dun mind tan lines if the tonal difference isn’t immense, but tans in general hafta look like it’s not a goal to be darker for me, more like a by-product of going out in the sun a lot…
