If you remember a few weeks ago, I was all star-struck that Dale Lazarov was aware I was a person and emailing me directly and stuff, and I gladly agreed to feature his work here (especially since the Drawn to You category remains one of the top things that brings guys to Manhunt Daily), so we’re back with another spotlight on Lazarov’s gorgeous work.
This week I’ll spare you all the gushing about style and texture and character that I did in the last post and just share some of my favorite parts of Peacock Punks.
This review kind of says all the things I need to say anyway:

That’s it exactly! Lazarov’s storytelling happens in the illustrations and without words so that a reader is allowed to place or interpret any number of reactions or situations the way they imagine it. And the “fun time is had by all” part is rather an understatement, based on the fact that the fucking takes up 20+ pages. But it’s so beautifully illustrated by Janos Janecki (who did the color, and Mauro Mariotti who did the action-filled and impossibly varied line-work, that even twenty pages doesn’t seem like enough. You want it to last forever. Here’s a quick selection of some of my very favorite panels:
I love that every one of those single pages tells you a little story, just on their own. And I can’t even explain how badly I wanna be in that pile up there – that is an epic collection of dicks that I wanna grab. This book is like that from beginning to end.

That’s a good word for it tbh. Calling them comics or even graphic novels seems like a disservice to how craft-driven and thoughtful these are.
Agreed. Seems weird to think that so many people would be involved in writing and drawing and inking something like this.
Why is that? It’s not easy finding a guy that can both draw and tell a good story. And considering how time consuming both can be to make a finished product it’s a better idea to have several involved so more is produced in a shorter amount of time.
