We hate to admit it when we’re wrong, but we’re finally jumping onto the Katy Perry bandwagon. Her latest single “E.T.” marks a creative turning point in her career. The music video is an epic journey through space, packed with exciting visuals that made us “ooh” and “aah” with every new scene.
Let’s not even try to compare this to “Born This Way”. All the so-called monsters can suck our dicks, because “E.T.” is on a whole other artistic level. This video’s clearly sending out a message about marriage equality, telling the world that you should be able to love whoever you want to love.
Just face it, you guys! Ms. Purry’s kittens have won this battle. Gaga may have spent six weeks atop the Billboard 100, but Teenage Dream is the first album in six years to yield four number one songs on the charts. Keep in mind, the last female artist to do this was Mariah Carey back in 1990-91 with her debut. Like, do you really think Gaga will be able to do the same? She’ll release some shitty single like “Alejandro” and ruin her entire campaign. Seriously.

Truthfully? We still think she’s trying way too hard, and it almost seems like she’s lost touch with her (albeit much more annoying) identity as a pop star. As for the song? The lyrics about getting “infected” with someone’s “poison” still make us think of bugchasers. Kind of uncomfortable, but we’ll still include it on tomorrow’s Weekly Top Ten.

Katy is a badass hot alien!!! I love this video, i feel she gets better and better with every new video. Hopefuly her next single is either Hummingbirg Heartbeat or Pearl. But why did she had to put Kayne on it…..terrible idea.
That video shits all over Born This Way (dem costumes!). True story. I’ve always kinda liked this song; it’s kinda quirky and very cool as opposed to the usual “DANCEDANCEDANCEDANCEWORKITBABYFREAKSISTERFIERCE”. Not liking Kanye’s cameo, though. That guys pisses me off.
Wow. She totally copied Wall•E with the opening part… the old-timey music echoing in the distance and trash piled up everywhere. Lol. And I’m sorry, Kanye West negates ANY credibility an “artist” might have.

well ya, if you keep releasing singles from your album then the likelihood of that happening is pretty good. i wish more artist did this in stead of putting out like 2 and making you wait until whenever the hell decide to make a new cd.
First her new album is way better then her first. Second you’re right this video can’t be compared to born this way and although I like gaga I have to say here video is just ok and the song sucks. But that’s just my opinion. I also feel the same about britneys first new album single hold it against me. But I’m still enjoying her album. Anyways back to katy, I’m truly loving this video very creative, and the makeup is amazing. I just don’t see the point of having kanye west or however you spell it, added to the song, he does nothing for it.

okay first off ALBINO BUTT, I loved this song when i first heard it but this video is like perfection incarnate. Gamer geek hotness im not big on kanye being invovled but that probably her choice and his part was minimual. Its over the top and complete wow factor but things have to be nowadays it seems hence y either really out there vids like Born this way or really simple vids seem to get noticed all the time.
Too bad she still can’t sing worth crap live. Autotune is solely responsible for keeping her career alive.
Kanye has a way with ruining things. His part in this music video kind of ruined it for me. : Besides him, this was a visually stunning video.

I love both “One of the boys” and “Teenage Dream” she is a great performer and I cant wait to see what else she has for us. The video is visually stunning but I would of gone with less Kanye and more Katy…
It infuriates me that Kanye West is even on this song. It was a perfectly good song without him trashing it up. It’s a pointless rap that was obviously not meant to be part of it originally.
I have to say though, the make-up deisgns of each alien look are superb. Awesome job to the make-up artist who created that!

I’ve seen better material in 90s sci fi movies and music videos. It looks like one of those anime videoclips they post on YouTube and they just put music to it. I don’t know why Evanescence comes to my mind. At least it’s better than Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way”.
I had never heard of bugchasing, but the song is way darker when you think of it that way.
You know when I heard this song I imagined what if the “alien” was the human. Interesting concept, and interesting video. Definatly out of the ordinary for Katy Perry. Catchy tunes, but I doubt her music will last into the next decade…or century.
This song and the video are great. I’m sure there are still two more singles to come out of Teenage Dream. Speaking of Born This Way, that song just achieved something it’s not heard of these days much on the Billboard charts. It got to #1 on the Singles Sales chart with the CD of Remixes Part 1. It sold 24,000 physical copies (not digital). So records are being broken pretty much every month in this new download era. All the best to Katy and Gaga.

I feel they could have done better in the first half of the video. The second part is just stunning. The first part is rubbish. Well at least the video is related to the song unlike born this way with some weirdo alien race and dancing skeletons.

My vote goes to Ke$ha’s “Blow” for the best current video out right now.
And Kanye is fuckin’ incredible. No other rapper – living or dead – is capable of creating what he did with his last album. He only gets bashed here a lot because he’s not some fierce diva and he doesn’t make club songs.
Ps – Katy Perry’s next single should be “The One That Got Away”. Good song from an otherwise awful album.
