Auto Body Shop Restores Bullied Gay Student’s Vandalized Car For Free

kidnness

Let’s put the hot bodies aside for a moment and look at an incident in Virginia which will make you believe that this planet isn’t entirely going to shit, and that people actually care about one another. As I gently blot the tears in my eyes, I invite you to meet Radford University student Jordan Addison. His 1999 VW had been vandalized four times – windows bashed in, tires slashed, and someone keying “die fag” into his doors. Jordan couldn’t afford repairs for the fourth time, so he had to drive around with that carved into his car. Kid’s just trying to get an education, and some fucking assholes can’t deal with him being gay. Cuz’ that’s totally important and he needs to pay for it.

A man named Richard Henegar Jr. is the manager of Roanoke’s Quality Paint and Body. A friend of his who works at Jordan’s school told him about the kid who had to drive around with ugly hatred on his ride. Henegar, who told the local newspaper that he was the victim of bullying himself when he was younger, took up a collection among local businesses to repair Addison’s car. But he didn’t just repair the door with the slur on it.

When Jordan arrived to the garage to pick up his car, he discovered that Henegar and his employees had spent $10,000 and over 100 man hours to restore it. They added scratch-resistant paint, new tires, tinted windows, a new stereo, and a security system.

“I was entirely speechless. I just walked around saying, ‘Oh, my God, this is not my car,’”  the aspiring PhD student gushed to the Daily News. “It just restored my faith, my good faith, in people.”

It’s not all bad out there.

p.s. Ok, and both Jordan and Richard Jr. are cutesy. You’ll note that when you watch the video. What? I didn’t completely lose my sex drive just because it’s a touching story.

  1. what a great gesture by all involved, and your right left to our own, people in this country will do the right thing, now if we could only get rid of the religous organizations, and our government we would be on the way to remaking this the Best country in the world.

  3. The saddest part is that we even need to fix someone’s car to which this never should have happened. We need to make sure we all pitch in and love our neighbor. Fixing what hatred has caused does make you feel good, but we need to go further and make sure the hate doesn’t happen in the first place.

  6. Phillip, I completely agree with what you are saying, but your writing is atrociously bad, and that diminishes your message and reflects poorly on you. Proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar do still matter.

  8. Watching this restores my faith in people also. on another note, the word “homophobia” needs to be retired. It’s not fear that makes someone express hatred at homosexuals, It’s simply that they are a ignorant asshole.
