Aural Only: Pixie Lott

Pixie Lott, When Love Takes Over, singer, song, cover, David Guetta, Kelly Rowland

When we're not busy talking about naked dudes, we have a tendency to feature a handful of female singers from the other side of the pond. So how have we completely neglected to mention English pop star Pixie Lott? Her debut album Turn It Up produced two number one UK singles, including "Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)" and "Boys and Girls".

But as catchy as those songs are, we have something even more exciting to talk about! Lott recently performed an acoustic cover of Manhunt Daily's (unofficial) 2009 Song of Summer, "When Love Takes Over". She can't quite match Ms. Kelly Rowland's diva vocals, but it's certainly a refreshing take on the original. Yay or nay?

  1. I always thought the lyrics of Love Takes Over pretty horrendous on their own, hence an acoustic version was a bad choice. But I’ve heard worse.
    blah.
