An Interview With Mike De Marko: Baseball Bats In His Butt & Also Taylor Swift

Mie De Marko has been an increasingly familiar face in porn for the last couple of years. He’s the kind of porn performer who sneaks up on you, especially since his porn career has seen him grow from a smooth-chested twink into a hairy Raging Stallion stud. He’s worked with many of the big studios and recently bottomed for, among others, Shawn Wolfe, Boomer Banks, Connor Maguire and Brock Avery.

We’ve also seen his ass get rammed with a night stick and a baseball bat, which when you think about it is probably not that much thicker or harder than taking Boomer Banks’ dick. This guy really likes big things in his butt, and his butt is a great one to watch, so Mike’s chosen profession is something we should all be thankful for.

Speaking of being thankful, I caught up with Don Juan De Marko just before Thanksgiving. He was in New York, and he answered some questions for me by phone.

So what brings you to New York?

I came in last Monday for escorting, and I came in last month for Hustlaball. It was my first time performing. I was the first act, with Aleks Buldocek who’s a total sweetheart. After that I wanted to come back for a week or ten days. I got in touch with MEN.COM and filmed a few scenes with them while I was here. Then I’ll be heading out west for Thanksgiving.

You live on the west coast, right?

Yeah, West Hollywood. I’ve been there pretty much since I graduated from college.

How’d the MEN.COM work go?

The two scenes went really well. [Director] Marc MacNamara is great to work with, and I did a scene with Bennett Anthony.

Any other scenes coming out soon?

I did a couple with Titan before I came out here. I finally filmed with Nick Capra. We’ve been trying to film together for a long time. Throughout the summer and into early fall, I did a few scenes for Falcon, Hot House and Raging Stallion, so I’m keeping fairly busy.

If you had to choose between porn and escorting, which would you say you like better?

It really depends. They’re totally different. Escorting gives me the freedom to build my own schedule, and you get in and get out.

Which one came first?

I started escorting about six months after I started doing porn. I had moved to Phoenix and didn’t have much else to do. I had some success escorting there and then kept doing it when I moved back to LA.

And is this full-time work for you?

No, I’m actually a real estate broker. It’s fun to be both in and out of the industry. I think I’ve managed it fairly well. At first I wasn’t that busy, but as things picked up for me, I had to find ways to integrate. It’s not unusual for me to be making calls or pulling out my laptop on set. Sometimes there’s a time crunch, and I can remember one time when there was an emergency and texts kept coming in while I was on set. Thankfully it was in the middle of my individual photos and not while we were shooting.

So doing porn is more for fun?

I think at this point it is. It was my primary source of income when I started, but now my priorities have shifted back to real estate. So I book my filming first and then I’ll take seven to ten days off from work, which is easier than having to respond to real estate needs while I’m on set. I can’t exactly be Mike De Marko on Twitter while I’m working at the brokerage. Although I’ve been tempted on certain days when it’s slow…

Anything on your porn bucket list that you haven’t done yet? Or anybody?

Bennett Anthony was one of them, but that’s happened now. I have a huge crush on Johnny V, who’s been filming a lot for Raging Stallion. I don’t know, I’ve had my fair share of orgy scenes, and taken a baseball bat up the ass this year.

The baseball bat! I was going to ask you about that. How was that?

Overall, what have been some highlights of the year for you?

The baseball bat, definitely. I think Sentenced, the series I did with Chi Chi LaRue, got things off to a great start.

Can we talk about your chest hair? It seems different every time I see you in something.

Everyone has a really strong opinion about my chest hair. I’m Portuguese-Italian—so I’m naturally very hairy—but when I started, everyone wanted to see me smooth. So it’s always been more of the director’s doing than mine. I don’t really have strong feelings about it, although usually in the spring and summer, I like it less when I see all these smooth bodies by the pool.

Growing it out was definitely Chi Chi’s doing. and then the fans got excited, and then being hairy actually started getting me more work. But sometimes older photos come out and my fans freak out because they think I just shaved it off.

How are your fans?

I don’t have a lot of interaction with them outside of Twitter. I haven’t received any outlandish gifts or super crazy requests. I try not to be too controversial, so I think that helps.

Twitter does seem like the ideal platform for a porn fan.

Especially with their nudity policy.

So do people spot you out in the real world?

Every once in a while, but I feel like I get spotted a lot more in New York than I do in West Hollywood. Maybe that’s because I’m fresh meat here. I went into [a gay bar called] Flaming Saddles a couple of nights in a row and somebody actually stopped, pointed and did a double take.

So where else have you traveled for work? Any favorite places?

One of my favorite places to shoot was always San Francisco, but Falcon and Raging Stallion moved to Las Vegas, so I guess I’ll have to find another reason to go there now. I’d love to film for MEN.COM in London or Madrid. I’ve spent a lot of time in Spain. The first time I went, I was ten with my grandparents, and then I went back in high school with friends, and in college I spent six months in Pamplona.

Outside of work, I always love Rosarito Beach in Mexico. If I have downtime, I usually try to go down there and relax on the beach. I love being outside, so when I’m home, I spend a lot of time hiking in Runyon [Canyon]. I don’t travel long distances as much as I used to, but I love short drives out of the city to San Diego and Santa Barbara.

So, last question. Was that really you in that Taylor Swift video?

That was me. My roommate at the time was Brody Wilde, and he was working for the casting agency that did all the background talent. It was a Tuesday, and he called me and said we’re casting a music video, but you have to come in. So I went in for a casting, and I think he had it rigged anyway, and a few days later, I was on set listening to “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” for eight hours, which was an insane form of torture.

So this was a one time thing?

That was definitely a fluke. You will not see me in any other music videos.

And what are your thoughts on Taylor Swift?

I am a big fan, but I’m not a super fan. I’ve never been to a concert. I do have the latest album, though, and it’s really good. I’ve had it on repeat a lot.
