Weekly Top Ten: So What? She’s Still A Rockstar.

After eleven weeks on our Weekly Top Ten charts, Pink‘s “Fuckin’ Perfect” has met the end of its run. Despite a brief three-week stint in the number one spot, but the song ultimately met its demise due to fierce competition from our current top three competitors–Britney Spears, Adele and Lady Gaga.

The saddest part is that Pink actually pulled in a decent number of votes! The same can’t be said for Alex Gaudino, Selena Gomez and last week’s saved entry Sky Ferreira, all of whom failed to gain enough support. They’re joined in the loser’s circle by Wild Card rejects Fefe Dobson, Sahara Davenport and Kate Bush.

So how does this all work? If you’re a Weekly Top Ten virgin, take care of Devin Moss and Gianluigi‘s big cocks while I explain the rules to you. Each week you’ll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for any and all that you’d like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we’ll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we save and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week’s charts.

Wishing there was a “none of the above” option? Well, quit your bitching and tell us what you want to see on the charts by leaving a suggestion in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we think it’ll have a chance… you might see it here next time around!

– Dewitt

To check out the charts and cast your vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Britney Spears – Till The World Ends (LW – 1, W6): For those of you keeping count at home, this is the third week that Britney’s dominated the competition. And she still came in nearly one-hundred votes ahead of this week’s runner-up. Don’t be surprised if the new music video solidifies her already impressive lead.
  2. Adele – Someone Like You (LW – 2, W6): Adele has been breaking records left and right, to the point that we can’t even keep track of her success. With her third single “Set Fire To The Rain” is on the horizon, be prepared for some interesting developments on the charts!
  3. Lady Gaga – Born This Way (LW – 3, W9): Once again, the race between Gaga and Adele was extremely close. The demented pop diva only came in nine votes behind her, making it quite possible for a “Born This Way” comeback. Of course, we won’t be surprised if her little monsters are too busy fapping uncontrollably to put their paws up. The album’s second single “Judas” will be released on April 19, and it includes weird-ass lyrics about ear condoms.
  4. Katy Perry f/ Kanye West – E.T. (LW – 8, W2): Thanks to heavy airplay and a sparkly music video, Katy bounces back with her fourth single from the Teenage Dream campaign. Even so, we expected more votes for a song that’s spent two weeks atop the Billboard 100. Y’all kittens need to step up your game!
  5. Kylie Minogue – Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) (LW – 7, W2): Is there a cute name for Kylie Minogue fans? All this talk of monsters, kittens and the Godney brigade makes us want to refer to everyone’s fans in some weird cult-like manner. Well, whatever you call yourselves, get your shit together and vote for this Australian dance diva.
  6. Glee Cast – Loser Like Me (LW – 5, W4): See what you guys did? By making us feel entirely guilty, you managed to save your favorite Glee song from inevitable extinction. We’re not even going to say anything else negative, out of fear that a horde of gleeks will burn our office down.
  7. Sade – Still In Love With You (DEBUT): Sade breaks our heart (yet again) with the first single from her upcoming Ultimate Collection. Yes, it’s a cover of a song by Thin Lizzy! Deal with it. Somehow, Ms. Adu and her bad-ass crew manage to pull it off. We wish her the best of luck on our countdown.
  8. Nicole Scherzinger – Don’t Hold Your Breath (WILD CARD): We’re not even going to address the fact that a former Pussycat Doll destroyed Kate Bush in this week’s Wild Card round. The ol’ Scherzinger pulled in nearly half of the votes, and her competition didn’t even stand a chance. We get the sense she won’t achieve the same level of success in this round…
  9. Kelly Rowland f/ Lil Wayne – Motivation (DEBUT): Sadly, the mere inclusion of Lil Wayne on this track may “motivate” some of you to not vote for this song. Ms. Kelly’s had a rough time getting her third solo album on shelves, and if it takes a mediocre verse from one of today’s hottest rappers… We’ll take what we can get!
  10. Jill Scott f/ Eve – Shame (DEBUT): Samples of Special Ed and The Spinners? Check. A guest verse by the dearly-missed Eve? Double check. Powerful vocals that we hope to hear blasting out of every car window this upcoming summer? You better fucking believe it.

  1. Very close to what I predicted, except that you decided to save glee over pink even though she had 2% more votes.

Anyhow, congrats to brit brit again. Glad to see her on top. And really surprised she is rising on official charts. Like I predicted last week, she climbed to number 13 on Billboard. Next week she will be looking at something like number 7.

Pretty odd, cos Britney music doesn’t normally exhibit such behaviour. Usually her music starts with a splash of high sales and moderate airplay, quickly gets to its peak position, and then quickly fades out and immediately replaced by new music from Britney herself, i.e. new single. TTWE had its splash, but now it suddenly got a second life, thanks to tv appearances and the music video. I wonder how high it’s gonna climb. It’s still not a huge hit with me.

  2. Kylie Minogue fans attend The Church of Kylie.

Oh, and I hate that Godney and Godga shit.

    #teambritney is much better 🙂

  3. i really wish i could vote for “et” without kanye — her version without his bit is SO MUCH BETTER

  4. I couldn’t agree more. I have no interest in hearing him bring this awesome song to a grinding halt with his horrible voice. The album version is the only one I listen to. 🙂

  5. Some very enthusiastic votes went to Adele, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Loser Like Me from GLEE!!!!!!

  6. ouch.. seems like adele is heading to top this week. well, not like she doesn’t deserve it… but still… i’d like to see britney there again.

  7. Seriously? The worst original Glee song over Don’t Hold Your Breath? I don’t even love Nicole (although she was charming as fuck on X Factor UK), but… come on.

  8. or maybe it was too early to call….

@Ben, What are u on about? They are both on the countdown. Glee couldn’t be placed lower than that, cos it was ‘saved’. Nicole is starting at no.8. Where did u want Dewitt to put it? At number 3?

  9. I voted for Adele, Kylie, Sade, and Jill Scott. Anything with Eve is automatically a win in my book!

  10. I love Nicole’s song. It’s on heavy rotation on my Ipod this week. I also voted for Britney, Adele, Sade, Katy and Kylie.

Here’s the remix from Don’t hold your breath, just check the link:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juBn4jp1lD8

Suggestion for next week is the new Example single “Changed the way you kiss me”.

  11. Seriously, Sade and Jill Scott? They don’t stand a chance against the other divas no matter how talented they are. How ’bout another diva for next week?

Mary J. Blige has a new song out called Someone to love me (naked). Check it out. Warning: It has Lil’ Wayne on it for those who don’t like rappers.

  12. I hope Nicole gets to stay for an extra week. That song is gonna be big this summer. My other votes went to Adele, Britney, Gaga, Sade and Kylie. I also second the suggestion for Example’s single. Although the song won’t be available for download for another month, I’m sure it will be another hit for him here in the UK.

  13. Till The World Ends all the way !!!! 🙂

When is S&M – Feat Britney going to be added? Its HOT!

  14. Lady Gaga has a new remix of Born This Way that is getting tonnes of attention and some radio play. It is bollywood inspired and mixed by some of the best mixers and djs in India.

It is much better than the Country Road Mix and I even like it better than the original mix.

It is called: Born This Way – The Indian Mix.

You can listen to it on her website or youtube it.

It is amazing! Fantastic beat and energy.

  15. @Nex – I am actually going to 100% agree with you. This countdown is getting so boring and very predictable.

    Here are some thoughts:
    1. Bring it back to 3 votes max. It was more exciting back then. The top 10 men is limited to 2 votes, I say we limit this as well.

    2. Make the limit be 10 weeks, just like on the top 10 men. 10 weeks is more than enough time. Retire songs after a full ten week run.

    3. Change up who you decide to save. Maybe only the top 5 should make it and the rest go and are replaced with 5 new songs.

I dunno, but it is getting stale.

  16. @Chris, no thx, pls dont implement any of those changes, maybe except for max 2-3 votes. retiring anything is bad enough, if it’s popular, then it’s popular. let it stay. 15 weeks is bad enough.

regarding yet another version of same old express yourself/born this way, see my reply to u on wildcard.

  17. I agree with 3 votes max like it used to be.

I also agree with retiring songs after 10 weeks.

The top 6 is just stale and boring, and this is coming from a huge Katy and Gaga and Kylie fan!

Do sumfin to mix it up. 3 votes + 10 week max = more lively.
