Weekly Top Ten: Gaga Brings In The New Year

Lady Gaga, Dangerous Muse, Chromeo, Sia, Marina & The Diamonds, Kesha, Janet Jackson, Amerie, Fabolous, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Jay Sean, Sean Paul, music, gay, charts, voting, vote, weekly top ten

The new year opens with Lady Gaga continuing her dominance on Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten charts, but she's facing some fierce competition from a pair of male duos. Could she wind up tag-teamed and thrown into second place? It's up to you to determine her fate! You never know what 2010 will bring…

Well, you do know one thing. Britney Spears, Rihanna and Monica Rush didn't get enough votes to stay on the charts, so you'll have to say goodbye to those three lovely ladies. They're not the only losers–Justin Bieber and The Plastiscines were eliminated in the Wild Card round. Poor things! They didn't even stand a chance.

If you're new to the Weekly Top Ten, why don't you play with my nipples as I explain the rules? Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three moving to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

So what do you have to do to get your favorite song on the list? If you help me fulfill my New Year's resolution of sleeping with a Manhunt Daily reader, I might consider it. Just kidding! All you have to do is leave a comment with your suggestion. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if it gets our asses shaking… you might see it here next week!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance (LW – 1): How many weeks has this spent at the top? I've stopped counting, but I'm pretty sure it's adding up to a pretty big number. Expect to see it kicking around for quite some time.
  2. Dangerous Muse – I Want It All (LW – 5): The only feasible threat to Gaga is this "heteroflexible" duo. They not only have a really good song on their hands, but their rockin' bodies will have you putting your hands on your dicks. Yum!
  3. Chromeo – Night By Night (LW – 8): Speaking of people who make me put my hands on my dick, Dave 1 of Chromeo really works the whole nerdy chic thing. And I'm loving this song's nostalgic, ol' school vibe.
  4. Sia – You've Changed (LW – 9): This song never fails to make me happy. In fact, Sia never fails to make me happy. Even if she were singing the saddest song in the world, it'd somehow put a smile on my face. That's some true power.
  5. Marina & The Diamonds – Hollywood (LW – 7): Woo! My attempts to force Marina Diamandis down your throats weren't a complete failure. She slips in at the number five spot, and hopefully she'll be climbing up from there.
  6. Ke$ha – Tik Tok (LW – 3): I don't mean to be a hater, but I dislike Ke$ha more and more as I read her interviews. She's like the way stupider version of Lady Gaga. Still, this song makes me dance like an animal. I guess I should just take her for what she is?
  7. Janet Jackson – Make Me (LW – 4): Ms. Jackson tied with Ke$ha, so we're going to keep her on for another week. Also, it was an incredibly slow week for music, and this song still gets me movin'. Don't stop 'til you get it up!
  8. Amerie f/ Fabolous – More Than Love (WILD CARD): I was surprised that Amerie came out on top in the Wild Card round! I think she's extremely underrated, and I'd love to see her stick around on the charts for another week. Maybe you can help me out?
  9. Jay-Z f/ Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind (RETURN): Like I said, it's been a slow week in music! Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are getting another chance with this one, after it's already taken the number one spot on the Billboard charts.
  10. Jay Sean f/ Sean Paul & Lil Jon – Do You Remember (WILD CARD): Jay Sean makes his second debut on the Weekly Top Ten. He didn't stick around for very long last time, but maybe he'll have better luck this time around?

  1. Primitive Man by the Fruit Bats is good. Won’t get your ass shaking, but you seem to have a liking for their kind of music. I sure do! Oh and I don’t know if you’ve put up Chester French’s “She Loves Everybody” yet, but check it out.

  2. Goo Bad Romance!
The only thing that’s most likely going to kick it off the top spot would be Telephone when the clip’s released.

  3. I love how Chromeo and Marina & the Diamonds are doing so well. C’mon Chromeo, take Lady GaGa off the top spot! You can do it!

  4. Beyonce’s “Videophone” (Doman & Gooding Edit)
This remixed version was what finally made me start listening to the song again.

  5. I suggest “Ego” by The Saturdays. Although I enjoy the acoustic version more, the studio version is also good.

  6. WTF?!
What the hell is wrong with Y’all?!
    NO Brit Brit? No Madge?
    I vote for “3” and “Celebration”…
    Gaga is SO overrated
