Vote For The Weekly Top Ten Wild Card

It’s that time again! Get ready to throw on your headphones and listen to some jams, because we need your help in filling the final slot on our Weekly Top Ten countdown. Four songs are ready to compete for your affection, and it’s your duty to vote for the best.

This week’s Wild Card round features new music by Gabriella Cilmi, Dragonette, Sufjan Stevens and Jazmine Sullivan. If you’re not feeling any of these selections, be sure to leave a comment with a suggestion for next week! Believe it or not, we might take it into consideration.

To listen and cast your vote, follow the JUMP:

Gabriella Cilmi – Defender: Earlier in the year, this Australian import made an impact on the Weekly Top Ten with her uber-gay single “On A Mission”. Her latest release finds her slowing things down a bit, so it’ll be interesting to see whether it makes it onto the charts!

Dragonette – Our Summer Volcano: It’s time for another disco-tinged track! Dragonette takes it to the roller rink with their latest single, and we’re left feeling a little underwhelmed. This one definitely doesn’t bang as hard as “Pick Up The Phone”.

___________________________________________________________

Sufjan Stevens – I Walked: The indie superstar popped back onto the scene with a surprise EP entitled All Delighted People, along with promises that his new album The Age of Adz would be due this October. “I Walked” is the first offering from the latter project, and it’ll definitely satisfy your cravings for Sufjan.

Jazmine Sullivan – Holding You Down: It may not be as infectious as the Glee-adopted “Bust Your Windows”, but there’s no denying Jazmine’s powerful vocals. Take some time to let this one grow on you, and we’re sure you’ll be singing along by the end of the video.

  1. I love, love Jazmine Sullivan, probably one of the most vocally talented artists to come out in the past ten years!

  2. So here’s the thing… I believe Sufjan to be a modern musical genius. He deserves to be recognized. Also, I’ve been really on the rocks with ManHuntDaily until RIGHT now. I shall now be a regular reader.

    Go Sufjan.

Oh, and music aside… he’s pretty darn dashing. 🙂

  3. kat de luna’s push push single. the male models doing the hips thing are very cute too, in the practise videos.

i hope she releases a spanish version of that song or partial spanish version like she did for run the show.

  4. wait just checked her myspace page and she has released a spanish version of push push, well a partial spanish version.

sounds very seductive in parts – all that hot latin vibe. so thats my entry for the top ten – partial spanish version of push, push

  5. There really isn’t a point in having a wild card right now, because we can all guess who will be 1,2, and 3. None of these songs will last beyond a week or 2 if that.

  6. I didn’t like much the choices this week. It should have been a second chance wild card. As Leo said, none of the new tracks this week will make it beyond a week or two, except for the new Kylie track.

  7. There’s a much better song with Dragonnette. It’s actually by Kaskade featuring their singer and it’s called “Fire in your new shoes”. Very catchy and more club oriented.
