Virgin Mobile Makes a Gay Ad

VIrgin Mobile

It seems like Virgin Mobile is targeting the gays with their next nationwide ad campaign. The ad features two men kissing… sounds hot right? What's better is their slogan "Hook Up Fearlessly" sounds like it could be a Manhunt ad. Let's see how long the ad is running before they start getting complaints from homophobes.

  1. How about complaints from homos?
Why is it that the one time they put two men kissing in an ad, it’s one that builds on the word “hook up”? Does being gay = hook-up?

  2. there is a difference between a straightforward representation that aims to be realistic and and an ironic or, in this case literally, tongue-in-cheek one. people should be able to spot the difference.

  3. just because someone doesn’t approve, it doesn’t mean they are “homophobic”. do you approve of theft? No?! does that make you kleptophobic?

  4. I think that everyone is afraid of being robbed… People go out of their way to not be robbed… but if you really want to put a phobia on it… it’s Harpaxophobia…

  6. All the pictures are slutty, and hello, welcome to the World Where Sex Sells.
Or is it that since the other pictures contain women they’re allowed to be slutty? Maybe even inherently slutty? Because we all know what whores women really are.
Get Over Yourself. You want to complain, why don’t you complain about how frequently advertisement turns into softcore porn generally, and not just when it applies to a specific demographic.
