Tim Burton to Remake Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton’s next
project is Alice in Wonderland, and
who else would play the Mad Hatter but Johnny Depp.

The most popular movie version of Lewis Carroll’s
masterpiece has been Disney’s animated cut made in 1954. In one sense, Burton remade Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory
because he felt the original watered down the oddity of the
book. He feels similarly about Alice in Wonderland.

“It’s always just a series of weird events. Every character
is strange and she’s just kind of wandering through all of the encounters as
just a sort of observer. The goal is to try to make it an engaging movie where
you get some of the psychology and kind of bring a freshness but also keep the
classic nature of Alice."

  1. Of COURSE it’s a series of odd events. Lewis Carroll was whacked out of his tree on opium and had a dream. “Through The Looking Glass” was that dream!
I just hope that Burton’s remake is geared more towards adults. Really this shouldn’t have been a kids movie in the first place.
