The Courage Campaign Fidelity PSA

The Courage Campaign released this video encouraging supporters to ask California's Supreme Court not to divorce the 10,000+ gay couples married in their state. The supporters of Proposition 8 are hoping to retroactively apply the ban, and nullify those marriages.

I think it's awesome that Regina Spektor lent her hit single to the video. The song really makes the snapshots all the more touching. I didn't realize Spektor was an ally, but she recently had this to say on her MySpace blog.

"I had the chance to do 3 days on the True Colors tour with the one and
only Cyndi Lauper. She is indescribably great. The tour was a benefit
for gay rights. Gay rights, in a free and equal country, should be
implicit. That's the point of equality. It's equal. Everyone gets to
have it. Somehow, someone didn't get the memo with the whole
"inalienable rights" thing, and so they are not. Then again, they got
the memo about guns just fine. Not separation of church and state,
though… Who is in charge of handing out these memos? It's bizarre."

  1. Nice video.
I was all for it until I saw the little children with the signs.
Looks like a cheap shot to pull support.
They could have easily as well made their message without the kids.
