Teen Girl Scientist Monthly Is The Best New Band You’re Not Listening To.

It’s hard to describe a band like Teen Girl Scientist Monthly. So much of their appeal rests in their ability to get into your mind, body and soul to make you feel something, a task that’s especially rare in a time when most modern pop music’s become so bored with itself that it’s resorted to telling us to have fun and feel young. The members of Teen Girl Scientist Monthly don’t have to tell us anything. They just sing out their hearts, play their instruments and lead by example.

Their efforts are starting to pay off, after they caught the attention of BuzzFeed Music‘s editor. His enthusiasm (and one simple tweet) got yours truly to hit the play button, and in less than one song’s length, I was sold on the Brooklyn rock-stomp sextet’s energy alone. It reminded me of the first time I heard Japandroids‘ “The House That Heaven Built“, The 1975‘s “Sex“, Papa‘s “Young Rut” or pretty much anything ever recorded by The New Pornographers.

Most of you have probably tuned out by now, but in the event that you’re still reading, please stop looking at my stupid words, head over here and start listening immediately. (Feel free to make a sex tape with your boyfriend with this album as the soundtrack, because you know, I should tie this back to Manhunt in some way, and also, I would totally watch that so hard.)
