If you’re a fan of MGMT‘s “Kids”, then you’re (probably) going to love SWIM DEEP‘s “King City”. Then again, if you’re a fan of MGMT, there’s a distinct possibility you’re cooler than me and have already heard of SWIM DEEP’s “King City”. Whatever.
The song has been floating around for months now, yet it’s so damn good that I’m not even worried about being “late to the game”. You shouldn’t be worried about that either. Just hit the play button and absorb that anthemic synth line and fist-pumping chorus. Let it drip all over your body! Make love with the music! Pretend I never used the phrase “make love”!
Rumor has it, the Birmingham-based indie foursome signed to RCA Records earlier this month, and I’m convinced they’re going to blow up BIG within the very near future. The kind of “BIG” that involves promotional videos for Belstaff with Ewan McGregor in them.
Also? They share my indifference for One Direction, as indicated by this quote from their Facebook page: “met harry styles last night whatever”.
That quote has literally nothing to do with their music, but gosh, I fucking love it.
