Four or five years into the time-sucking vacuum that is Tumblr, it’s pretty rare that I stumble across a site with lots of gay photos that I haven’t seen hundreds of times already. I’m not sure when Climbing Down Bokor started—there are over 14,000 images on it, but whoever runs it also updates it roughly six million times a day—but it’s definitely a good one to scroll through if you’re a fan of the vintage man. (Bokor is either a vodou term or else a ghost town in Cambodia. Either way, I don’t know.)
A mix of beefcakey physique photos, dreamy movie stars like Paul Newman and Jean-Paul Belmondo, fine art and weird ephemera, it will make you wish you could hop into a time machine and transport yourself to that era when big-balled bodybuilders were all the rage, along with handsome, probably gay movie stars with naughty gleams in their eyes. (Okay, so back then, there were also a lot of rednecky-looking teenagers of questionable age, too, but let’s gloss over those.)
