Saying goodbye can be a hard thing to do and it shows with Gana, this gorilla who has lost her son in her arms and is
refusing to let go of her dead baby. Claudio, the baby gorilla passed away on from what is believed
to a heart defect. The zookeeper has yet to retrieve the body of Claudio because Gana is guarding him so meticulously.
This perhaps is one of the greatest gifts that a zoo can
bestow- to show that ‘animals’ are very much like ourselves, and feel the pain of a lost loved one.

Letting go is a hard thing. It saddens me to read about Gana’s loss- it made me think of my Grandma who played an important role in my life that passed away a couple years ago. Just looking
at the video and looking at the pictures of her holding onto Claudio’s dear life was a tear jerker. It’s saddening to lose someone, especially someone who holds a lot of significance in your life.

someone remember to always cherish what that special person instilled in you.
I am sure they have a lot to do with who you are and more importantly, who you will
become later in life!
