Relive the Joy & Heartbreak of the Gay 1980s in It’s a Sin Trailer

From the creator behind Queer As Folk, comes a new series chronicling the lives of gay men.

Russell T. Davies is all set to premiere his five-part miniseries, It’s A Sin, sometime next year and will star Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander.

Alexander plays Ritchie Tozer, an optimistic gay teen who moves to London in the 1980s. 

Lydia West, Omari Douglas, Callum Scott Howells, and Nathaniel Curtis play Ritchie’s friends Jill, Roscoe, Colin, and Ash, all finding a way to be themselves in a homophobic world. Little did they know, the AIDS crisis was just beginning. 

“Do you seriously think there’s an illness that only kills gay men” Ritchie posits. “I don’t believe it.”

Neil Patrick Harris, Stephen Fry, Shaun Dooley, Tracy Ann Oberman and Keeley Hawes also star in the series. It’s A Sin will premiere on Channel 4 in the U.K. and HBO Max in the U.S. next year.
