Random Question: Your Dream Super Power?

0811_FBOTM_Marc_020

After wildly obsessing over their "Fanboy of the Month" David, the good folks from Fanboys of the Universe were kind enough to send over a copy of their 2010 calendar. Not only did it include a shot of my fake boyfriend's hairy butt (instant boner), but it also included the man pictured above as Mr. January. His name is Marc, and I'd really like to be sandwiched between him and David…

But that's a fantasy for another day. The calendar's arrival inspired me to come up with a random question for all of you. If you could have any super power, what would it be? And for those of you interested in extra credit, who would be your arch nemesis? Would you be a hero or a villain? Any sidekicks? Have fun with this one! The more details you provide, the more likely I'll want to sleep with you.

  1. Hmmmm a loaded question! Want to see good men think about doing bad things?? Ask them what their dream power would be lol!
A close one between Mystique’s shape shifting and Charles Xavier’s telepathy but telepathy it is!

  2. #1) To cum with the power of Will Smith in Hancock! Seriously.
#2) Mind control – and to only use it for good.

  3. are we going with one power only? or can we pick a character who has multiple powers? in the case of one power i will pick what Forge has – techno genius. having that would allow me the ability to create anything for any task i want to accomplish – not to mention a bad ass armored suit of some sort. im sure that i would start out with the purest of intentions but the first taste of real power would drive me over the edge and create some sort of megalomaniacal beast who repeatedly justifies the means with the ends. i want a nemesis who is willing to go to the ends of the earth to hunt me down and fight me but when it comes to actually pulling the trigger once im in the trap cant do it so i can practice my crazy laugh and exclaim how weak he is as i use the moment of his compassion to escape to my freedom only to wreak havoc another day. i would also be able to equip a bunch of underlings with my inventions so i could have a superhuman army. perhaps i would name them the freedom fighters to inspire others or perhaps i would name them team death to ensure obedience. maybe i would name them both and based on my mood in the morning decide what they will be for the day. i would end up outrageously rich and on an island with cliffs that is lavishly equipped with all sorts of security systems that i invented designed to keep out everything. i would eventually fall into a depression as i see the futility of whatever it is i am engaging in and seek enlightenment. upon reaching enlightenment as an old man i will seek out my nemesis and offer him a serum (which i will also take that i invented of course) that reduces him and i back to infancy so we can grow up again and the second time around partner up and get the freedom fighting done correctly.

  4. hmmm mostly X-Men listed here- interesting. I think I would chose the powers of the original Superman- since his powers were really a package granted him by Earth’s yellow sun, they technically would be one power.

  5. The power to manipulate the physiology of any being. This includes the ability to heal injuries, paralyse, control minds, induce emotions, and basically anything that has a physiological base.

  6. I’ve always wanted the power to control time. Adding a nice pause and reset button to my life would be amazing. Well minus the whole punching a hole in the time-space continuum leading to the destruction of our universe scenario.

  7. Supersanity, like the Joker. To be so perceptive of mankind that I’m considered insane.
And my archnemisis wouldn’t be Batman. He’s cool. He’s dark. Nah – it’d be Superman. That truth, justice and the american way never stuck to me. It was too sissy.

  8. I’d definitely want to be telekinetic, jean grey (phoenix) style. Powerful enough so I could fly, and move entire houses and what not. Although it’d be more about the flying for me haha. Being able to read peoples minds as well would be an added bonus.
Although, Green Lantern is my favorite comic book character… He can pretty much do the same thing, but recharging the ring and having to answer to a panel of little blue men would annoy me after a while.
My arch nemesis… I have no idea who that’d be… Probably would save homos from places like Uganda.

  9. id love to control mother earth. power over the elements would be intense lol. AND NOT LIKE CAPTAIN PLANET!!!! i have better fashion sense.

  10. I’m stuck between my nerdy dreams of superhero-dom — wanting a real power like time warping or tactile telekinesis or something — and my selfish horny side — wanting super gaydar (like, I could telepathically sense all the gay guys in the city, their mental state, what they were into…).
Although, I suppose even the super gaydar could be used to help people occasionally. Legion of Substitute Heroes, here I come!
High five @JamesCoz on the Green Lantern love. Also, I think josh has spent a lot of time thinking about this. 🙂

  11. I think I’d go with Peter Petrelli from “Heroes”, the power to absorb other powers, as opposed to Sylar who has that same power, but through evil means.

  12. obviously some super power that would soon revolutionize the world so a teeny banter of children heroes assembled from across the world would have to come and stop me from doing that… because revolutionizing the world is bad!

  13. The best power there is…teleporting. I could go anywhere in a flash. I could even spy on some cute guys from their closet haha.

  14. The power to control biological material, like Elixer. With that, one could change ones own structure (like mystique) but also anyone elses.
Could heal people. Also find some ugly guy with a great sence of humor and personality and make him like super hot. Also cure kids with cancer and other horrid diseases.

  15. for me the power of telekenisis, astral projection, fly, premonition, emphathy, teleportation, healing, freeze time, and the ability to blow things up.

  16. I’d say the whole Phoenix no limitation to what your mind can think it can create(or destroy Muha ha ha haaaa) and if I could be a Cullen style vampire too that would be awesome! The whole needing no rest, super strong, super fast, shining in the sun, golden eyes… hmm that would be fun!

  17. Tactohypnosis…..Really??
Why settle for just controling people when you touch them. Why not when you look at them?

  18. @Michael W: I’d go with Peter Petrelli, too, but I’m not talking about superpowers.
Seriously, though, what if you had that power, but you were the only super-powered person in the world?
