Random Question: Would You Ever Do Drag?

This is Kendall. What does he have to do with the topic of this post? Well, much to our surprise, he used to be a drag queen. And quite frankly? We thought you’d rather look at a big beefy bear than some dude in heels, and we can only deal with so many of those hyper-masculine “I hate everything remotely feminine” comments. ::audible sigh:: This question alone will inspire quite a few comments of that nature…

Oh, but let’s just cut to the chase! What if a band of merry drag queens offered to doll you up for a night? They’d take care of your makeup, outfit and everything else. You wouldn’t have to spend a penny, and nobody would find out unless you wanted them to. You’d probably have to shave. Not just your face.

Taking this into consideration, would you consider donning some sequins and mascara? What if you were paid to do it? Or a millionaire donated a large sum to the charity of your choice? All in all, what would it take to get you into a dress and some fuck-me-pumps? Just curious.

  1. I would if it were for charity or some type of theatrical performance.  Since most drag queens I have been exposed to usually engage in one or both at the same time, I’d be willing to.

Now the question I would pose is would anyone be open to cross-dressing?  I think if I had to classify the two cross-dressing would be more sexually based while engaging in drag is more theatrical and non-sexual.

  2. I have done drag. Only once, but it was so much fun and I would love to do it again! like Kendall I’m hairy and beefy (being a cub and all) and it’s a lot of work to get hairless and into a dress. I would do it again in a heart beat.

  3. I personally would never do Drag. I’m not judging anyone, to each his own.  I have fought against Stereotypes my whole life.  The flipant, cross dressing, effeminant image most have of gays, doesn’t have to be .We are the whole spectrum high heels to Hardcore.

  4. For charity? Sure. What the hell, ya know? It’s just shiny fabric, uncomfortable shoes and face-painting. Thought of doing a Gothic “queen of the vampires” thing for Halloween this year. Although, personally, I don’t think I would make a pretty drag queen.

  5. I have done it once for a fundraiser for a softball team  and will be doing it again for my team to raise money for the GSWS (Gay Softball World Series) in which my team will be going to.   It was fun but I drank a lot of alcohol!

  6. Pay me, YES, otherwise, NO. just not my thing but I’m always amazed at how good some guys can make themselves look.

  7. I’d do it, if only to shut a few of my friends up…they’re dying to see me in drag. xD

  8. I’d love you to do it for me just for the sheer hell of it, but don’t the hubby……OMG

  9. have a lot of former luvers and current friends who do drag…i do not make a  pretty lady…so no…but enjoy the shows enormously…

  10. I play uni rugby, and most of them are straight and we do it quite regularly so I don’t really think its that weird.

  11. I’ve done it before, dressed up as a cheerleader for Halloween. And I’ve been to an event where they had the “Womanless Beauty Pageant.” It was a bunch of guys dressed as ladies. It was funny. Men who dress in drag to get a laugh is very hilarious. I would definitely do it again, but still keep my manly qualities (no shaving). Now as far as typical drag queens, never would.

  12. I am a drag queen. My persona, Miss Jeneva, is the medium for which I can express all my femininity & . If you know me, then you know that I’m not very feminine in my ordinary mannerisms, and my way of thinking is gender-neutral. But, I think there comes a time where you have to realize to say “fuck it” to the idea of stereotypes. Why should I be worried about what other people think?

  13. I would do it if someone did the choreography and all that stuff. Doing all the practicing is what would suck. But I’d make a pretty terrible drag queen: I love my five-o-clock shadow!

  14. Not the point of the post, I know, but since no one else has mentioned it: Hi Kendall. I’m Tommy.  Now that I’m down on my knees in front of your beefy fantastic naked body, how may I help you?  Sir, yes sir!

  15. I would, indeed. Once I was looking through some vacation pics that my brother took and I saw this incredibly attractive girl looking into a puddle of water (I’m bi, by the way). I asked my bro who she was and found out the hot girl was. . . me. *embarrassed*

Apparently the way I twisted back to look at the puddle + the hippie, long hair I was rocking made me turn myself on to my own damned self.
Point of the story, I look too damned hot as a girl, too, to not agree to do drag. 😉

  16. At some level all of our outfits are drag. Drag is just about expressing a different part of yourself through costumes.  How you do it, when, where and why are what shifts it to be something else. Putting on leather chaps, vest and hat…drag. Putting on a jock, white socks and a ball cap…drag. It’s all drag and it’s all good. When you do drag, you find out how liberating it is. It doesn’t have to mean that you want to be a female. As with anything else you do, have fun with it because it can be lots of fun.

  17. any guy who can drag is some one i admire. it takes nerves, inner strength and am comfortable and secure with your own masculinity / character.
    go for it!

  18. I am typically a fairly masculine man, ok not lumberjack type, but manly in my own way. I have done drag twice for a school event and it was alot of fun, and alot of work. I actually enjoy the aspect of playing a different persona, people treat you differently as the opposite gender, even if they know you are really a man. But it is fun exploring the feminine side of my personality. However, it is way too much work to do more than once a year.

  19. I do drag semi-regularly, and it is great fun! It can be scary as sh*t (especially when you find out about a show two days beforehand…) but it’s a fantastic experience getting to play someone else for a night

  20. I dragged for the first time last weekend. Had a make up artist come over to make a good job of it then i headed to a straight friends barbeque. Everyone loved it and they were suprisingly supportive. I was only doing it for laughs but hey who knows I might do it a wee bit more in future
