Random Question: Who’s Your Hero?

If you look inside your heart, you will finally see the truth–a hero lies in you. Of course, it’s also possible that your heart’s too jaded from being played one too many times, in which case you may have to look elsewhere. And honestly, who wants to be their own hero? Isn’t the whole point of getting rescued that you get to make out with your knight in shining armor?

Well, maybe not. There are many ways to define a hero, whether it’s a public figure, a relative or your best friend. We hate to get all sentimental on your asses, but what’s your own personal definition of a hero? And who would you say fulfills those qualifications?

  1. My definition of a hero is someone with impeccable moral credentials, who is honest, upright, cheerful and smart. My personal hero is Rachel Maddow. Lesbian and beautiful as well.

  2. A Hero is somebody who sacrifices themselves to better the whole of Humanity. Martin Luther King Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi. And right now, my hero is Chinese Nobel winner, Liu Xiaobo, being detained by the Chinese government.

  3. How bout those guys … hot! Great masculine, non model men! Now they are hot! Something about the hairy pit, smooth-ish chest and uber hairy legs is quite the turn on. The other guys mildly hairy chest is hot too! WOof!

  4. I honestly don’t have a hero at the moment, but I will say this: about the first photo with the guy on the right…HOLY HOT HAIRY LEGS BATMAN! lol

  5. Right now my hero is LIGHTS. she’s a fantastic music artist and suriving on her own in the music industry 🙂

She’s got a great attitude and she can really control a crowd! lol she’s my hero, because she’s someone i strive to be 🙂

  6. A hero is someone who fights.

Our president is hot, smart, and reasonable. BUT HE HAS NO FUCKING BALLS.

When zealous nutcases are spewing their xenophobic bullshit and talking shit about Obama, he just takes it. He has been hurled SO much disrespect. But he just keeps on extending a fucking olive branch. WTF.

OBAMA CAN YOU BE OUR HERO!?!?! CAN YOU STAND UP AND SPEAK YOUR MIND SOMETIMES INSTEAD OF THIS “CANT WE JUST GET ALONG!” CRAP? CAN YOU DEFEND THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE EVEN WHEN IT MAY BE UNPOPULAR WITH A FEW EXTREME NUTJOBS?

    WTF

  7. I would have to say my hero is anyone that is comfortable in their own skin. If you can do that the rest is small stuff.

  8. My parents without a doubt. When I told them I was gay they reached out…hugged me and said “This isn’t the life we wanted for you,but you’re our son and thats all we know…” in that one moment they saw me as their son and a man and I saw them not only as my parents, but as people and heroes!

  9. that one guy, pointing in the first pic, looks like he’s wearing fur pants! he’s hot regardless lol

  10. Definitely my mom. A single parent raising four boys, while going to college and working as a waitress. She provided as best she could for us, and made incredible sacrifices so that we could attend private boarding school so we could better our lives, and build our independence.

  11. Great post! There are a lot of “super heros” mentioned here — Moms, Dads, and persons of note who made a difference.

My heroes are the gay men and women who walked through the fire, before I was ever born and during my sexually confused youth, so that I can live my life today as a out, proud gay man. To that end I have to concur with Michael! (love the exclamation point, bud) that EVERY gay man and woman who is living their life out and proud is a hero.

And to boinkalicious, I must respectfully disagree — there ARE heroes everywhere you look. Call me laughably naive or eternally optimistic if you wish, but I have to believe that.

And finally, OMG, could the guys in the pic BE any hotter?! My sweet Lord in heaven, wrap those hairy legs around me and it’s the only fur coat I’ll ever want or need! I saw those legs and that ‘pit and I wasn’t able to leave my desk for 10 minutes! me-OW!

  12. @Fabi: yes there is always a hero in your life, but you are just too cynical too realize that. A hero is not someone’s perfect that you look up completely too. A hero can be a very normal, sometimes very flawed person but he or she has helped you to have faith in yourself, your family, friends and humanity. My mom and dad are my heroes. Because they have taught me to believe that you can have a great life without scarifying your real identity.
