Pat Robertson can apparently add historian to his long list of accomplishments. When talking about the federal extension of benefits and Pride month declaration, Robertson decided it was the perfect time to predict the downfall of America and I bet you know who he's blaming it on!
He claims historically countries that embrace homosexuality end up in "the garbage heap of history." Of course, he gives no example but I'd guess if pressed on it he'd say ancient Rome. Okay Robertson, I never thought I'd need my 10th grade world history class, but here it goes:
Rome fell because it grew too big to manage, it became too imperialistic leading to individual armies being against the state (Caesar anyone?). Not to mention a lot of corruption by the elite. And by the time the Empire fell it was actually Christian dominated, though that collapse happened largely because of Germanic tribes.
I guess Pat Robertson needs a few history lesson, because I'm calling bullshit!

Perhaps the Ancient Greeks? Oh wait, no, all they did was sire most modern sciences and philosophies, produce some of the greatest fighting forces ever seen and maintain a pretty big empire (although somewhat divided) for quite a considerable amount of time.

Pat Robertson suffers from the ‘this must men that’ school of logic…he will grasp at ANY reason to explain his prejudice…and he believes it! That’s the real horror, here…he NEEDS an explanation so badly, he will CONVINCE himself that gays are the culprit in the demise of the Roman Empire…if only.

If only we could make Pat Robertson “Gay for a Day,” then he would see not only the everyday trials, and joys we experience, but maybe he would come to the realizations that we are normal and just the same a s everyone else. Just a little more colorful, thats all… with better music…
Ok, SO here is my thought on this. Why do we even bother listening to Pat Robertson. He has nothing nice to say, just ignore him, change the channel don’t read his news. Well that works for me, maybe not for others. Like come on Pat is living in the past, like isn’t he as old as the sun. Again my suggestion is don’t listen to him. My motto is, “if negativity is all you have towards me then I have no time for you!!!

This is the same drivel that conservatives and republicans have been spouting for years and years…Don’t blame it on greed and corruption. Don’t blame it on encompitence. Blame it on gay sex and homosexuality. Of course they’ve never done it…wouldn’t think of it…But almost every time you turn around here comes another one of them getting caught with another man in a compromising situation. They get in the pulpit and say all of the right things then once they step out of it they stick it where ever and when ever they can. “Do as I say not as I do mentality” People like Robertson will never learn.
