Obama Hosts Gay Activists, Promises To Keep Promises

Yesterday President Barack Obama and First Lady Michele Obama hosted a group of around 300 gay and lesbian activists in the White House to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. His speech was well received and may just help to breed some more patience in LGBT folks who have been frustrated lately.

Obama reiterated his promises and says "I suspect that by the time this administration is over, I think you
guys will have pretty good feelings about the Obama administration." Let's hope so!

There's also a funny moment when a duck ringtone interrupts Obama (around 2:15). Obama saying "I'm just curious" at a gay event made me chuckle a little.

  1. Props to Obama.
It’s very reassuring to see the “head honcho” of our country actively supporting the gay community.

  2. It’s words. Until he does something, all words.
He wants us to be trained dogs like the rest of the country. “Sit! Stay! Wait for it…”
Many politicians claim to support our community. Let’s see him actually make good on an LGBT promise before we give him the title of “actively supporting.”
