NONONO‘s “Pumpin Blood” is nowhere near as morbid as it sounds. The lyrics celebrate the mere joy of being alive, as vocalist Stina Wäppling proclaims on the chorus, “This is your heart, it’s alive. It’s pumping blood… And the whole wide world is whistling”. Then, in the spirit of Britney, The Black Keys, Flo Rida and Foster The People before them, the Swedish trio busts out some suspiciously addictive whistling, and we all roll down our car windows, start bobbing our heads and then we realize it’s still too cold to have our windows down, roll them back up and continue bobbing.
With its uplifting message and breezy demeanor, “Pumpin Blood” has potential to be a breakout summer hit (or at least the next song featured in a major car commercial). We’d like to thank our Manhunt rep in Taiwan, yet again, for bringing this one to our attention.
