Noah Schnapp Goes Full Fatal Attraction In The Tutor Trailer

Audiences have come to know and love out actor Noah Schnapp for his sweet baby gay character Will on Stranger Things. We love him, we root for him. But in his new film The Tutor, Schnapp shows a completely different side of his acting talents when he goes full obsessive stalker.

The film also stars Garrett Hedlund as Ethan, a teacher who’s hired by a mysterious billionaire to tutor his son Jackson (Schnapp). It doesn’t take long for Ethan to begin suspecting there’s something off about his young charge (maybe it’s all those turtlenecks and sweater vests?) although his girlfriend tries to reassure him that rich kids can’t help the life they’re born into.

However, things begin escalating as Jackson shows a more violent side and steps up his obsession with his teacher, following him and inserting him into his personal life. When Ethan pushes back, Jackson appears to begin framing him, taking his life apart piece by piece. It’s then up to Ethan to try and prove that it’s Jackson who’s the true guilty party.

The film calls to mind classic thrillers like Fatal Attraction, Fear, and The Crush. Although not explicitly queer (at least not in the trailer) the subtext is absolutely screaming, as Schnapp’s character calls back to many a queer-coded character of the past, in particular Anthony Perkins’ Norman Bates.

Needless to say, we can’t wait to see this one when it arrives in theaters on March 24. Watch the trailer below.
