In a desperate attempt to breathe new life into her Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel album, Mariah Carey will soon be releasing a full remix album entitled Angels Advocates. She's kicked off the hype with two brand new music videos for her songs "Up Out My Face" and "Angels Cry", along with the help of Ne-Yo and up-and-coming female rapper Nicki Minaj. Personally, I think these two songs should have been the album's lead singles, and it's a shame that they've waited so long to release them!
"Up Out My Face" has a pleasant bounce, reminiscent of Mariah's previous number one hit "Touch My Body". Unlike many last-minute collaborations between rappers and singers, Nicki Minaj doesn't sound like an afterthought on this. She pops out some quality, quotable lines, although none of them can quite match her partner's absolutely insane "lego blocks" lyric…
On the flip-side, "Angels Cry" is in the style of Mariah's classic ballads with a bit of a "We Belong Together" vibe. It falls a little flat on the original album, but Ne-Yo's presence takes it up a notch. Though it's ultra sappy and coming out at a time when ballads aren't performing particularly well, some folks are going to eat this shit up.
We don't want to anger any of Mimi's militant "lambs", yet we also don't want to shove her down the throats of the guys who can't stand her. The solution? Only one of these songs can make it onto our Weekly Top Ten charts, and we're putting it up to a vote. So which one should it be?

All her songs sound the same
I’m amazed at how thin she looks in her videos yet when you see her on the red carpet at all these award shows she looks huge. Not huge, but not as thin as she looks in these vids.
She is about the most unoriginal singer out there right now.. Eveything she does sounds the same.

I liked Nicki’s verses, wonder if she is ever gonna have an official album or just keep doing mixtapes and cameos?
O.o….I don’t care what any body says, she can make a crappy movie, dress in an unflattering gown every so often, marry a guy that she is twice the age of, and slur her way through an acceptance speech, but she is amazing. She is a DIVA and I love her. Sometimes her videos make me think “What was she thinking?” but I don’t think about the videos I close my eyes and listen to the song and I loved both of these. Angels Cry was a good video and song. Up Out My Face… well it was a good song, maybe the title should have been ‘When I break up (lego block song)’, and the vidoe reminded me of a Target commercial but just on the color scheme, but over all I liked it. Can’t believe I can only pic one….I’m gonna have to go with Up Out My Face though, just becuase I know that Angels Cry will probably end up on the radio where as Up Out My Face probably won’t get as much air time.
Mariah has simply set the standard that all others wish they could come close to. They simply pale in comparison to her.
I’d love to see Up Out My Face make the list. It’s a very fun and catchy song and the video captures the energy and vibe very well.
