Manhunt + Android = The Hottest Hookup Ever!

It’s no secret that the iPhone has become the Marcia Brady of smartphones. Even though Android users are super attractive, collected data has proven that iPhone users have more sexual partners. What’s up with that? All I hear all day long is how great the iPhone is at this or how wonderful the iPhone did that. iPhone, iPhone, iPhone!

Who’s looking out for all the horny men with Androids? Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to check your mail and cruise through millions of Manhunt profiles on an Android device? Oh, and what if you could upload pictures directly from your cam to your Manhunt profile and access you buddy list?  Basically do all the the things with the app that you do with your Manhunt profile–that would be so freaking awesome!

Wait, it turns out that you can do all of these things. Manhunt has officially released our very first Android app, and you can pick it up now in the Android Market. So what are you doing just sitting there with a finger up your butt? Download the app, and get it on the go!

  1. I fucking love my android phone more and more every day, yesterday I got Winamp, today I get Manhunt, who knows what’s next?

  2. Unfortunately, most pics are “too hot”, in Phoenix, near me is considered California, Colorado, Nevada, but not down the street.

  3. this too hot for android is really BS! what is the point of manhunt if you cant find the cock you want or see the ass of the guy who is coming by. to make this successful, you are either gonna need to offer a non-market version that allows for adult pics, or you will likely lose people.
i already know that i wont be using it until that feature gets changed.

  4. I have it and to be blunt, It needs a LOT of work. The entire UI needs to be revamped to look more like the site, more colorful or something. And the “too hot for android”? whats with that? most are G rated pics anyways!! I would suggest read the feedback (something you have NOT done with the Android DList app) and go from there. It could be really successful!

  5. The Android app is a hell of a lot better than trying to use the regular site on a mobile browser. However, this ‘too hot for Android’ business is ridiculous. At least give a reason for it for heaven’s sakes!

  6. This app is crap. First off, it said it could not determine my location using GPS. Once I started another app that used GPS, then it found me. When I clicked on the guys near me, it brought guys up two states away. And the option buttons are so dark you cant hardly read them. I uninstalled immediately.

  7. @delsam: I’ve got the same type of problems that you describe. I’ve got the Evo 4G so I loaded the app the minute I saw that it was available. I’m in Albany, NY and the stupid thing was bringing up profiles in NH. I had the exact same trouble on the GPS also. A friend from Albany who has a profile on MH was sitting right next to me and the GPS could not find him. He had the iPhone4 and had the GPS up and working on his phone. I’m uninstalling this app too, will try it again in another month or two to see if they’ve got the kinks ironed out.

  8. Yeah, it’s pretty buggy still, GPS doesn’t work, and show guys close to me brings up guys from all over the country, not just the 25 mile radius I have set in Filters. It’s ok to use for mail, and checking your buddy list, but that’s about it so far.

  9. Here are the results from the Find Nearby: (I am in Mass) 1 guy in Boston, 1 guy in Chicago, 1 guy in Fort Lauderdale, 1 guy in Albuquerque, Charlotte.

    Kinda Buggy…..

  10. Agreed. A distance filter needs to be available in the “Nearby” search. And being able to read the full profile of a guy, instead of just their headline, would be swell, too.

  11. I’ve been using the mini Opera browser on the Evo. Works pretty well and gets the job done. But if the Android-app would just do what it says it can do, that would be much better. Unfortunately it’s just not ready for prime-time viewing yet as you can see from my previous post. Maybe another month or two. In the meantime, back to the Opera!

  12. Hi guys,

As you might have guessed, the Android Market policies require us to disable photos that contain adult content from displaying on the Manhunt app. We know that this isn’t exactly what you’re used to when it comes to looking at Manhunt profiles, and we’re working on an alternative – so stay tuned. In the meantime, we encourage you to add PG-rated pics to your profile so more guys can check you out from their phones.

As for the UI requests and performance issues – this is the first version of the app, which means we’ll be making continuous improvements to it over coming weeks based on your feedback. So keep it coming, and we’ll announce updates at apps.manhunt.net as they happen.

    Thanks,

    J. Harvey

  13. I’m still trying to figure out the “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia”‘part of the post. There is no iPhone app for Manhunt. Period. How is it all about the iPhone again?

  14. Hey, J. Harvey,

Not sure I understand why you don’t have a beta test and get rid of most of the bugs before you release the NEW GREAT ANDROID APP which is basically crap-ware. Uninstalled. Back to Grindr for me…

  15. Reiterating some of the comments above. “nearby” just doesn’t work. “near” charleston sc today I had Florida, Paris (France), and Tennessee… In that order…

“find” should return the same results I get from the web version. Not even close, again returning guys from all over.

    Uninstalled.

  16. I keep trying to access apps.manhunt.net for an update on the “assfinder”, manhunt iphone or whatever it’s called but the link breaks. So what will it be called and what’s a working url for an update? I need to find my ass.

  17. with the images being blocked its probably done the easy way by screening for the amount of skin tones in the pic. the gaydar app does the same

roll on an iphone version tho

  18. Hey! when will there be one available for blackberry curve 9300 dudes? Going crazy not being able to check it out….

  19. So where’d we land on the Blackberry thing? Because in some countries (cough-cough-MINE) more people have blackberry’s than I-phones.
