Let’s Protect The Internet Against Censorship

You might have noticed that some of your favorite websites are dark today, or presenting various banners, posts and links asking you to join the fight against SOPA.

SOPA is the “Stop Online Piracy Act”, and it’s currently before the House of Representatives (although voting on it is currently on hold). It purports to be a bill protecting copyrighted material. However, if you read the fine print (and you can here, here, or here), its passage could mean the end of the Internet as we know it. If SOPA is signed into law, almost every site you visit on a daily basis could be subject to intense fines, imprisonment for site admins and, ultimately, dissolution if they violate SOPA’s rather broad terms.

And yes, this could encompass Manhunt Daily and Manhunt itself. SOMEONE doesn’t have any respect for a man’s need for dick, and the public’s need for vapid and bitchy yet SCINTILLATING writing about said dick.

We don’t normally hammer you over the head with scary current events. Manhunt Daily is a place where you can come to relax, clown on each other, and fap. But this shit is kinda terrifying and smells of fascism. This sounds like a cliche but it’s the truth – the Internet is the last frontier, people. Once it’s taken over by corporations or government, that’s it.

  1. Well said!
…Now show us a picture of a naked man to make us feel better…
    seriously though, that’s insanely scary
in Canada, we are dealing with our own daemons regarding all things Internet
The Dark Side has found its niche online…

  2. I trust the government to make decisions in our own interests. The government will protect us, nurture us, think for us, tell us what to do, what to say, and overall how to live. I mean, that is the perfect life; don’t have to do anything and simply let the government take control.

Now, to let the government filter, edit, police, censor, and control the Internet is the best thing possible. Only the government knows what is best for us, what we need, and what we should access.

I fully support SOPA. We will be much better off online with it as law.

  3. are you for real!!!!!!    I hope what  you said was a joke.   Otherwise you are a  complete brainwashed idiot!!!!     Yes  Dewitt   I  finally totally agree  with you!!!!

  4. You pretty much have no mind of your own. This law is a total contradiction to what the government is supposed to promote. It is mainly because the government officials who have their hands in all of these different companies are getting pissy because they want more money for themselves. But you are a joke for what you just posted.

  5. LOL sounds like a teapartier misinterpreting liberal ideas. Funny though because if you paid any attention you would notice that it’s mostly conservative politicians and the corporations that pay them who are backing this bill.

  6. I wonder how many people who read this blog/article have now become aware of SOPA/PIPA as of today? Whether it is in ignorance or government placed blocking, this is a serious issue we have to deal with. If SOPA/PIPA passes, not only can they shut down sites like Manhunt/ManhuntDaily/Wikipedia/Facebook/Twitter/Youtube/Google/AlJazeera English/Reddit/Tumblr, it will also block foreign websites/businesses from appearing in search engines, all because it appears they are “infringing on copyright detail” or “appears harmful/a piracy website”.

It seems 1984 shall come to be a real place after all.

    Please know what that means^

  7. This statement is so stupid and so misguided.  Just because you hate the The Teaparty don’t lay this crap at their doorstep.  Check who REALLY is backing  SOPA.  It’s the Hollywood elite studios,  Time/Warner that owns CNN and the recording companies.  Check these websites for the truth:

  8. You are still wrong.  Liberal politicians are the ones that are backing SOPA…Harry Reird, Chris Todd Chuck S. and a host of others…most are backing off now that they have seen the public outrage.
