Kanye West Says I Ain’t Gay

Does Kanye West seem a little more than metrosexual to you? Apparently, some think that for a Hip Hop artist he dresses "kind of gay." He recently sat down with MTV's DJ Sway to address the rumors. When asked about his style of dress, he said:

"People wanna label me and throw that on me all the time, but I'm so secure with my manhood. And that's the reason why I can go to Paris, why I can have conversations with people who are blatantly gay. 'Cause I used to be scared to talk to a gay person. It's designers that's scared of people in hip-hop. And in hip hop, there's people — and let's not even say scared like homophobic — but they're scared of the way people gonna look at them."

I don't think Kanye's gay. He probably stands out because he's more artistically open than many around him. Click here to watch the full interview.

  1. I can’t imagine that Kanye is gay. A whiny crybaby when he doesn’t win no matter how much money he throws at something, yes – but gay, no.

  2. Ugh, I don’t think any of us want him anyway. He’s such an arrogant ass. He’d fit in well in most self-obsessed gay cliques though!

  3. ” He’d fit in well in most self-obsessed gay cliques though!”
this is why kanye is a big fag. real proof.

  4. Manhunt, are you serious?
    “he dresses kind of gay”
Did you *seriously* write something that ignorant and self-loathing?

  5. Kanye is not gay. He is an artist. I listen to rap & hip-hop, I know the culture and movement. I have such a hard time marrying the two (hip-hop and gay), so I imagine that Kanye has this problem as well. He puts alot into his art so at times his ego gets the best of him. Although this characteristic is held by many gay people, it is refreshing to see a straight person remain true to themselves (and their craft).

  6. Manhunt stoops to new levels. I dress in jeans and sweatshirts, so I assume that makes me straight? Or a male lesbian, perhaps? If we’re gonna decide stereotypes are cool, let’s have the courage of our convictions.
As a fan of the man, I will readily admit that he can be annoying, arrogant and childish. But he is one of the only hip-hop stars willing to publicly say that gays should be treated with the same respect straights are. If there are manufactured rumors that he’s gay, it’s because he refuses to demonize homosexuals like so many black rap artists do.
As for other comments, I would have sex with Kanye in a second if he wasn’t straight. I think he’s very good-looking and, while he still needs to grow up quite a bit, has a good heart.

  7. Adam,
i did not say that he dresses gay, I said that other people think that. At the end of the entry I said that I do not think he is gay and that he is more artistically open. I hope that clarifies it.

  8. Bumble Bee is correct. He clearly separates himself from those ignorant statements such as Mr. West dressing “kind of gay”…..and becomes nothing more than the messenger of such ignorance deemed significant enough to print. Source your info when quoting someone. It’ll make you an honest man.

  9. Snowboard you are right about Bumble Bee and Kanye. However I believe Bumble Bee did source his info on the quote.
