Janet Jackson Is Back In Black

Janet Jackson, 2010 promo

Rumor has it that Janet Jackson will be releasing her eleventh studio album in 2010. This begs the question–will this be too soon after her brother Michael's death and her alleged break-up with Jermaine Dupri? Some people are suspicious that she's wrongly taking advantage of the King of Pop's departure with the timing of this album announcement. What do you think?

Situation aside, can we talk about the image above for a second? It's absolutely stunning! I mean, I don't expect her next album to be another Control or Rhythm Nation, but I'd settle if she could at least get to a Velvet Rope level. Hell, I'll settle for anything as long as she doesn't talk about her flow being heavy like a first-day period.

UPDATE: I just remembered a while back that a demo entitled "Secret" leaked. Figured I'd share a link to hear it, since it might provide a clue as to what we may hear on the upcoming album.

  1. She’s supposed to be working with Terry and Jimmy Jam on this album, if that’s true it might just be another [Control]….
While her last albums weren’t been huge studio successes, i’ve liked songs from all of them.
She’s not using her bro’s death for publicity, she honestly isn’t going to want to talk about her bro’s passing when she does press interviews in the future…
Janet is a very level-headed lady so she’s honestly just trying to make a good album and deliver it to her fans

  2. Hopefully she can get some inspiration from her Brother’s life on this album. I wouldn’t see that as cashing in. I think she was working on the album before he died anyway.

  3. yeah, the last few Janet albums have come out 2 years a part before so why would it be weird now.and yeah ryan, that is NOT Janet. If janet wanted to make omney off of Michael, she would have done it. And the reason the press release came out about it is because the movie she was just filming is done and so they mentioned a new album coming later next year too.
