There have been rumors floating around that twinktacular "I Love College" rapper Asher Roth came out of the closet in an interview with E! News. Apparently Terrance Dean, the author of down low exposé Hiding in Hip-Hop, has neither confirmed nor denied these reports. In fact, he reposted the story on his own blog.
Does this mean that Mr. Roth is definitely playing for our team? Well, not quite. The source of this story doesn't look particularly credible, littered with several grammatical and spelling errors. And when you try to search E! News' Twitter feed or E! Online, there are absolutely no references to Asher's love for the cock. Sounds like another one of those ridiculous internet rumors, like that time some prankster fooled us into thinking Gerard Butler's bisexual. That was just cruel!
On the other hand, a bonus track from his debut album did have a potentially pro-gay lyric from collaborator Slick Rick. Considering that very same track sampled a song from an obscure Liza Minnelli show, it just leaves you wondering…
