Our favorite "narcissistic lip syncher" Jonny McGovern sent over a link to his blog, MY LIFE AT NIGHT. The interweb hot spot–emphasis on hot–features photos from the NYC nightlife icon's ten years in the biz. Most of these images incorporate extremely attractive go-go boys, so it was a given that we'd give him a shoutout for this!
Looking at the photos got me wondering… what do you think of the nightlife scene? Believe it or not, I'm a pretty shy guy when it comes to letting loose in public, so I prefer to meet men from the comfort of my home on Manhunt (cue product theme song). But every now and then, I like to get a little crazy, head to the club and take my clothes off on the dance-floor. How about you?

the night life in chicago is not like that all.. at least not the clubs i go to.
ditto, boston is not like that either… but the scene here is not good pretencious little ass wipe. On the other hand, Ive been called that myself. Might be the only way to survive. It not a matter of hot or not. Its more like can you tolerate it or not.

As i grew up, i was watching queer as folk.. so i thought the clubs would be like how i saw it on that show.. like Babylon..hook ups in the back and etc..
im only 22.. when i started going to the 21+ clubs.. i was like wait! i thought clubs were like queer as folk! but they weren’t.. well at least to the ones i have been too they are more chill about having fun with friends and drink.
And we wonder why people think we are so promiscuous and that we wouldn’t respect the sanctity of marriage. Personally, I think the gay club scene is just horrible and portrays our community in a bad way. Now there is nothing wrong with having fun and drinking. But having sex and stripping in a bar is just plain pathetic and wrong (Gay or Straight).
which clubs are you going to…the ones i’ve been to are NOTHING like that…
I’m in Vegas, and our clubs get crazy. Not to these levels, but it does go up there.
I have seen some hot stuff ( NYC clubs ) but not quite like this & dude squating down on the floor with the green undies well U get where I am going with this !!!
Love the club scene, I think the club scene is a huge part of our history, and a vital aspect of our community. I think alot of the “trashy” comes from the age group involved. I mean kids 19-25 want to go out party, make out with some random person, maybe sleep with them, and dance., Honestly the gay clubs I have been to have bee alot more casual than straight clubs. Straight people take their clubbing way to seriously…almost like they are out hunting for dick or pussy. I like how most of us are, sure we are hunting, but we enjoy the chase as much as the kill.

London clubs are pretty full on. fire, area, supermartxe, matinee…etc. they go on for hours into afterhours and are even more intense than babylon (QAF fictional club)you do get a few guys wondering about in underwear but most are just topless scene dudes.
having lived through the 70’s i guess nothing has changed in the gay club scene..it really sad!!

Well, I’m from New Orleans and we really have both kinds of clubs. Rawhide can easily end up like the photos, but clubs like Good Friends are really just classic bars, as much as one can have a classic bar in the French Quarter. There are dancers on the bar for Mardi Gras and Southern Decadence, but most of the time it’s like a two story gay Cheers.
Ok, gay clubs. As far as I’ve seen they almost all suck. I mean, there are just regular dance clubs where people are way to busy trying to be seen to notice anyone else. Those are kind of embarrassing if you’re older than, let’s say 21 and over 5’10”. Then there are just sex clubs. They suck because they’re mostly just an excuse for older guys to scope out younger guys in towels or going at it. They’re pretty gross. Especially if you’re at all sober. (If you’re sober enough to get it up you’re probably just going to be disgusted.) Then there are the clubs where you can just dance and drink or hookup in the back. Those are pretty sucky (pun not intended) as they combine the worst aspects of both. There really isn’t much fun left in gay clubbing. I’ve found that the only really good clubs and parties are mixed (or even hetero.) I mean, why suffer the humiliation of leaving the house looking for tail (and looking desperate) when you can sit at home looking for tail on manhunt where everyone looks desperate..?
It’s a wonder the bar didn’t get raided.

The fact that Splash is the biggest gay club in NY is just sad. NY has gone down the drain since Roxy and Avalon/Limelight closed. God, I used to love Limelight.

Clubs aren’t really like that but they are still slutty and gross. I go out a lot but I go with friends and don’t pay attention to the sluts there. I like to drink but I really don’t like the club scene in general.
Yeah, none of the clubs I’ve been to have had this much skin showing. And I’m perfectly fine with that. These images are just another facet of gay nightlife (god knows where)…and ya gotta give props to the one pic with the Heimlich maneuver diagram in the background of those two men. As if any of the guys in the room have any gag reflex left…lol.

Yeah this is pretty trashy. It looks like the set of a crazy music video, or some kind of sex party in a basement. Not-so-much a club. However, the fifth pic up from the bottom is really something…

These pics look like they all come from the same night/party. Some one night weekly bar promotion or the cliched gay “tourist” bar. And youngsters in their undies gettin naked & frisky at the club puts the “T” in TIRED!
Clubbing has suffered since Roxy closed or when L.A. had SPIN @ the Palace. Gone are the days of the weekly can’t miss mega-club & with it the unwritten code on how one should behave… Messy is not cute
I travel a great deal for my job and I have noticed the gay club scene seems to be dying. Ten years ago the bars were packed at midnight on Saturday night, Now, I have noticed, there is room to spare. Sure special event nights and Pride parties still draw a crowd but that is about it. Probably because it is much easier to pick a cock off the internet and cheaper too!
