Hell To The No!: Cherri V Samples Nirvana

Now I don't know who the hell this Cherri V chick is, but her song "Til The Sun Comes Up" jacks a guitar line and most of the melody from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Kurt Cobain isn't just rolling over in his grave, he's creeping out of it to strangle the label executives who convinced this innocent chick that this was a good idea.

  1. It could be worse, but, wow. That pretty much seems to go against what Kurt so passionately believed in. I am pretty sure he would not have Teen Spirit be used in this song if he was still around. But the song is not that bad, really.

  2. She has a gorgeous voice, but that song sucks! And wow, yeah, Nirvana did the tune much better. Music is like movies, people can rarely think of a new idea or way to do it, so they just keep redoing the same ole sh*t and the audiences are so small minded, they keep rushing out to get the newest remake movie or cover song. Encourage and support independent artists, people!

  3. i don’t hear it in the guitar riff in the background, but yeah once she started singing….

  4. Uhm I didnt notice it and I thought the song was hot. Whatever..I doubt Kurbain would even care..
