Have You Ever: Had Your Body Waxed?

Where do you fall in the great “to wax or not to wax” debate? While some consider it a necessary evil, others believe that it’s an emasculating practice which downplays a man’s natural sexiness. However, even the most pro-hair members of our community have been known to get their back hair removed.

Personally, I’ve never felt the need to wax any part of my body, but that doesn’t mean I can’t comprehend why someone else would choose to do so. Now that we’ve started talking about this, I’m curious to know… How many of you have ever had your body waxed?

  1. I had my back waxed once. It only felt somewhat uncomfortable (especially around the spine area). I’m kind of hairy, and even though most every guy I’m with likes that, I’m not a fan of back hair. I’d do it again, though in a heartbeat. Besides looking cleaner (to me – again, hairy guy here) it helps with acne – a big problem for me. I’d much rather have a guy rub a smooth back than read the braille.

  2. i’m on the same boat…extremely hairy guy here but can’t stand my back hair…i’ve waxed it once and shaved it a couple of times…it feels off because my back is numb to any sensation after that..just a personal preferance of mine

  3. same here, hairy guy here, chest and legs, and most guys im with love the fact that i dont shave/wax. exception is my back, i wax it sometimes when i feel it’s gettin too crazy back there lol. i think a hairy back is not as attractive as a hairy chest =)

  4. i agree iam not a fan of a hairy back i went as far as having laser hair removel on my back it did lighten it up but didnt remove it all its just to costly to get it removed permently so now i get it shaved

  5. I’m a hairy guy and ALWAYS wax. Other than some of the issues mentioned above (Acne, stubblyness, etc.) Hair also holds body odors easier that are much harder to get rid off when you are showering, which is no bueno when it comes to pretty much any type of sex.
Keep the facial hair is you are a hairy guy-It’s a great way to show your masculinity, and makes your cheek bones more defined, which is very very attractive!

  6. I’m pretty hairy all over, including my back. I prefer to be liked for who I am and the guys who like it I find generally more accepting all round. Ditto for me. If the sex is good, the company good, the conversation good, and the overall vibes good, why shave? If they’re not…again, why shave. Will it really help? I had my one pec shaved once for a cardiogram. My lover wanted me to shave the other one so I didn’t look odd on a cruise. God…the stubble phase drove me crazy and made me irritable. Fuck it. I even have face scruff so I don’t have to shave my face every morning. Who has time for all this anyway.

  7. Geez guys, don’t wax! I loooove hairy everything, including a hairy back! Be comfortable in your own skin (and hair)!

  8. I have about an average amount of hair but love to keep it trimmed short. I do have the hairs on my low back waxed off because shaving them leaves stubble and nobody wants to give a lover razor burn that way from there! It takes a few times to break the hair growth cycles (and yes it hurts but just for a few seconds). Now I only have to do it about every 5 months or so. I also shave my underarms (like waxing) because it is cooler (temperature wise) and reduces (or eliminates) smell and the need for so much deodorant. Hair is all good and fine but smooth skin rocks when it comes to sex. It’s important to do what we need to do to our bodies lovingly so that we feel sexy. If we feel sexy inside that will definitely show outside (no matter how much or how little hair there is). Stay sexy, men!

  9. I get my back and butt done. My back has light random hair however my butt gets pretty furry. I love the smooth feeling and helps stay cooler in the hot Dallas summers.

  10. Just hit my mid-30’s & noticed some hair growth on my back & immediatly hit the store & bought some Nads hair removal strips!!! I despise a hairy back & I’m not havin’ it on ME!! My partner of 10yrs says he’s fine with with it, but I think it’s gross…and if I could afford laser hair removal I’d be in the office in a heartbeat!!! I have no problem with hair in other places, but not on shoulders & backs…icky – WAX AWAY BABY! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Well I am naturally smooth with about 10 hairs on my chest. Yet more than thankful for that now, as I doubt I could really handle being covered in fur and would seek a permanent solution to the hair problem. Then I am aware that many other guys reckon very very hairy is good & there is nothing wrong with that. I would suspect what it should be about is how comfortable a hairy guy is being that way. As we are all different (thank goodness) be the way that makes U feel good about yourself. There is no way you will please everyone else. Hairy or not in the end how you feel about it has to be the most important thing.

  12. I had my back waxed once & I do not recommend it. It was excrutiatingly painful, expensive, and grew back so what was the point? Same goes for electrolysis (which they said wouldn’t grow back but it did).

You’re better off shaving; you can get to the hard-to-reach spots w/a mangroomer from amazon.com. Much cheaper & less painful!

  13. I’ve never waxed, but I have shaved & used some of those stinking hair removal creams on my arms, legs, chest, crotch & butt. I don’t have to worry about my back, tho. I’m not a big fan of hairy bodies myself, tho I don’t mind a furry chest. My own body hair is very fine, like silk, so no one ever seemed to have a problem with mine.
The main complaint I had with body hair is whether or not my mouth was going to be on it at any point. That’s why I preferred a guy’s crotch to be neatly trimmed or clean-shaved. It only takes choking on a pubic or body hair a few times to get turned off with someone sexually.
My other problem with excess body hair is odor, which primarily occurs in the armpits, crotch, butt & sometimes chest area. Man-smells are a subjective thing. If it’s the right guy, the pheromones kick in & it’s a turn-on. Otherwise, Mr. Stinky needs to take a shower…or two & scrub well.
All in all, if you care about someone, you learn to accept them as they are. If you have a problem with his body hair, then maybe you need to be the one to do the waxing or shaving (make it into an occasional erotic game). And if you’re just trying to get laid, then you either do what you need to, find another social group, or get used to being celibate.

  14. Never been waxed, but I’m only a little hairy. And while body hair is not a particular turn-on of mine, there has to be *something*. I hate having sex with a guy who’s totally smooth. Feels like I’m with a woman lol. If you’re naturally like that, as most Asian and Native American men are, then I guess I can live with it if I like you enough. But if you have any say in the matter, I’d rather you keep what you’ve got. Back hair is better than no hair.

  15. I always wanted to be hairy when I was a kid (the 70’s – disco and all that), and I got my wish. Now that I’m in my late 40s and work out quite a bit I hate it. I shave my chest and privates every day, trim my butt and legs, and shave my arms once a week.

Just like the smooth feeling and the way it looks on me. My ex used to trim my back for me, but now that that’s over I’ll probably get it waxed. It’s definitely a 2-person job.

As far as other guys go, some guys look good hairy, some don’t. I don’t. But shaved balls are the best!

  16. I began the hair removal process on my back about five months ago. I was unfortunate enough to be the hairiest one in my family – chest is covered, have a nice teardrop shape on my belly, and legs and forearms are pretty hairy. That said, it’s not thick and coarse. I don’t mind the chest hair, belly hair, or leg, arm, and butt hair – nor do most other people in my experience. However, I do not like having hair on my back.

My first appointment was for a waxing at a beauty salon, and that was fine. I paid $60 and my hair took about a month to regrow. Since then, I have had three appointments for sugaring, a process similar to waxing that uses an all-natural sap-like substance to remove hair. It’s less painful coming off the skin, lasts longer, and irritates less than wax. The density of my functioning hair follicles is decreasing, and it now takes over six weeks to regrow.

For those of us who don’t like a hairy back, I recommend sugaring as a solution. It is supposed to lead to permanence too – more on that later!

  17. Body No but i had my eyebrows waxed ONCE it was so hot the wax burned me i had red eyebrows for 2 days! and did i mention I did this while on vacation in Puerto Rico

  18. its so nuts that this post came up this morning, because I’ve been working a lot on my chest and torso at the gym and a buddy of mine said if I really wanted to make it look defined I should have it waxed.
Keep in mind that Im not that hairy, just the chest and kind of a 3-4 inch trail going down the middle that flares out around and under my belly button. But I have been seriously considering it because his chest looks great and he says that it doesnt grow back nearly as fast when you wax as when you shave. Is that true?
I actually have an appointment tonight and Im trying not to psych myself out of it.

  19. I am moderately hairy. My lover does not like my hairy back and when I look in the mirror neither do I. He does like my hairy chest but sometimes I keep it trmmed. I keep my cock and balls and my pits clean from hair. Looks better and smells better. I know I don’t like hair in my teeth. I don’t wax though. I use a product for men by Nair. It stinks but after a good shower the smell goes away. Works great on me. I don’t get complaints from my lover or my fuck buddies.

  20. Total turn off when a guy shaves anywhere.

I see razor stubble or a bad trim job, and I immediately picture him complaining like a priss, standing in front of a mirror using a razor, or going to a salon because he “HATES” back hair. I see this hate as self-loathing, and I suppose you can blame it on odors or the heat or whatever, but hating on back hair is a sign of weakness and issues. Infantilism, perfectionism, emasculation, etc.. Not serious mental issues, but issues nonetheless. Men are allowed to be mammals, and they are allowed to have a hairy back.

Fighting against it seems weak, and I only like men who have found a path to pride no matter what nature gave them.

It is called being gay. I call it being a MAN and it is sexy.

  21. Argh! Waxing?? No way.

I’m a serious fur-fan, get really turned on by furry chests, shoulders and backs (well anywhere n everywhere… :)) and find waxing, clipping or shaving a complete turn-off on a guy.

I reckon it’s about being comfortable with who you are, and with being with someone who appreciates you for who you are, who doesn’t want you to change. I’ve managed to persuade a couple of my boyfriends never to remove their back-fur and they have learned to appreciate it, and the effect it has on me (and our sex…).

So I say, keep the fur!

  22. “hating on back hair is a sign of weakness and issues…”

That is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve read on this site – and that’s saying a lot!

  23. Sorry, but it doesn’t make a man any less of a man if he likes to groom. We are not apes, or animals that have no choice in keeping the hair on our backs if we have it. For most, it just makes the man look hotter than he already is. Some people do it for appearance, some for hygiene. And some for both. This goes for straight and gay alike. Like most on here, I don’t mind hair on a man’s chest (just keep it well if it grows wildly). On the back, not so much, it isn’t healthy looking to me. Not to mention, you yourself can’t really reach around your back to clean it, so who knows what could be lurking back there.

  24. My chest hair sprouted in full when I was 14 and I am used to the stuff by now. I trim it shorter from time-to-time but I sort’of feel naked if I shave it off (weird considering I’m shirtless all the time anyways). As far as back hair, my shoulders and upper back have the stuff and I do shave it off.

  25. I once had to wax my chest, stomach and armpits for a musical I was in. I also had to shave my legs and arms. I think I prefer shaving to waxing just because of the redness and the breakout the wax caused that lasted for a week or two. I’d say that would be more embarrassing than the hair. Plus, by the time the redness went away I already had some regrowth. wtf?

  26. My ex used to get bikini waxes about once every two weeks, he talked me into it once and never will I ever again! Doing the front was ok, but I saw stars when she did the back. Being sore in your crotch and anal region is no bueno.

And I agree w/LilLatin shaving doesn’t make you any less of a man, not everyone likes the mountain man look.

  27. I love the hairless/smooth look. Very hot.
But rather than wax, I use the Norelco Phillips Body Groomer. My bod (except for heaad) is totally smooth using ths groomer. You can get it at Target or Amazon. About $39. Great bargain.

  28. Don’t shave, wax or trim for me guys – I LOVE fur on a man everywhere (grrrrrrr….). Not a big deal though if you do choose to do some manscaping – it’s your body.

  29. I can’t stand to have back hair been getting waxed for over 12 yrs. I’ve had some interesting experiences getting waxed but once I find a good waxer I hold on to them. I’ve gotten them so often now I fall asleep. As for shaving please don’t can’t tell you how many times I’ve ended up with a hot pink razor burn on my face from the other guys razor stubble on his shoulders.

  30. I bypassed the waxing and went straight to laser removal-all of it. A little more expensive, but well worth it. It’s been three years and no regrowth

  31. yes, eyebrows are a cake walk for me to get done every so often. however when my friend was going threw estitichion (fuck that word) school she needed a guini pic for her waxing portion. so she waxed my arms and i have never felt pain like that in my life. . . and i have 6 piercings and 3 tattoos lol. but when she did one patch on my chest i told her to fuck off. LOL it hurt like a bitch but it is a necessary evil for some. just keep it well manscaped and you wont have to go threw this pain LOL

  32. Never waxed my back or chest, no need to.. but i did get brave a year or so ago and bought a Nair Wax Kit and waxed my crotch.. it hurt a bit at first, but it was well worth it for perfectly smooth scratch free surface.. I still do it every couple mos.. its thinned out a bit and hardly hurts anymore..

  33. damn put down the razor and the hot wax. men are way too sexy. in their natural hairy state with a little help from the clipper.i love my men like monkeys they are so much better than smoothies. love the smell and taste. and feel. wooof

  34. I’m completely hairless (by choice). I wax every so often and betwen them use an epilator to keep me smooth. Its actually funny, I hate ANY type of body hair on myself but could care less about others. Its just a personal choice.

  35. I’m lucky – smooth back. I might trim (only) to neaten chest, stomach and pubes but really don’t care for men who wax and pluck all hair from their bodies. It is just my preference.

The one thing I can’t stand, and question the subliminal messages behind it, is shaved or de-haired pubes (most psycologists & psychiatrists will equate it to having sex with children…). Far too creepy for me.

  36. Seems the poster about “issues” has issues himself.
I’ve waxed the eyebrows, but that’s it. Don’t have much hair anywhere else. But I do like a hairy chest.

  37. I have to shave my shoulders and back but have never considered waxing. I love a guy with a hairy chest. Whatever others are into is fine by me just realize that we all are different.

  38. I’ve been shaving or waxing everything below the neck for about 5 years now. I love the smooth look! I love the way it feels when anyone rubs my smooth skin. It feels cleaner (less smelly) year round and feels cooler, too. I’d spring for laser all over but it’s too expensive. Oftentimes I’m a practice body for the estheticians at a local school, so I get waxed for free! It doesn’t matter to me if a guy is smooth or furry–I like both–but I really prefer to keep my body smooth…

  39. I’ve never and i mean NEVER found any reason to wax or shave. Many say it holds body odor in, if you shower thoroughly and keep yourself clean (and powdered) it isn’t an issue at all. As for it taking away from masculanity, it does. The male body naturally has body hair, so why change the way you were made; i see it as if you’re trying to change something you can, like sexuality. Besides, after a few days to a week or so it starts to be come noticeable again and you have to go through it all over again.

  40. I had my back waxed once. I don’t see how anyone could choose to have that procedure a second time. I use a groomer to remove the hair from my back and a razor on my shoulders and upper arms. It’s a personal choice for me. I also manscape my chest and crotch. I like a cleaner look for myself. I prefer that my sexual partners are groomed, but it isn’t always a deal breaker.

  41. I started getting my back waxed about 10 years ago and it’s not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. Over the years, the hair growth has slowed and there are fewer functioning follicles, so I can really go longer between waxings.

  42. To each their own, but I don’t care at all for “feminizing” waxing or other natural body hair removal with some exceptions (there always are; nothing is absolute).

  43. I am quiet hairy, but my hair is thin. I wax my back and shoulders every six weeks or so, depending on if i have bucks at the time or not. I meet a lot of guys for nsa fun and so far, they all find my hairyness very attractive. I like my chest hair , but hate my back hair. cant go public if i havent waxed my back. I rarely trim my pubes. I think pubes are incredibly sexy on a man. Sadly, most guys (esp young guys) shave or trim them right down. A real shame. But for me I only wax my back. The rest i keep. I’m proud of my hairy chest.

  44. hey i used to wax back hurts to much so my wax lady clippers it and then waxes my arse and male brazillian (cock, balls, underneath) and some one said earlier nothing better than a smooth surface and balls looks so much hotter and neater haha

  45. the other thing i cannot stand hairy cocks and balls i mean fellas come on i wont dick in my mouth not hair!!!

  46. very hairy, never shave or was. body hair is the first thing i look for in a man. the more the sexier. backs included. God made ua all different for different taste. i feel shaving/waxing is very fem. and if i want a woman i will get me one.

  47. I personally like people trimmed, etc. But waxing is a bit out-played. I enjoy that quality about a man. I personally don’t wax, nor would I ever want someone to expect me to. We have hair for a reason. I do however think that people should take care of that shit.

  48. I am a barber in south dakota…. and there are times that I have guys in and want there back, front…… and a few other areas waxed…. and I help them out…. but there are places that are better shaved…… I have my back waxed about once a month…… got use to the pain several years ago…..give the guy what he wants…..

  49. I don’t understand being emotionally attached to body hair. My back and butt are perfectly smooth. Everything else is at least moderately hairy. My belly and arms are practically furred. I find many guys like it. But for my partners who have liked a smooth torso, I don’t mind. Torso, cock, balls, taint, butt hole? What difference does it make? It grows back. And if that special someone wants it smooth, he can shave it and have fun. And as for myself, I’m not really attracted much to a hairy back. But when it comes to the rest of him, smooth or shaggy, if the guy’s hot, he’s hot.

  50. Yup I have..once. And got TONS of white heads everywhere a few days after. It was really embarrassing…

  51. I get my back, shoulders and butt waxed. I love getting rimmed after a fresh waxed, it feels amazing. The nerves are more exposed to the tongue.
Not having hair does not make you look like girl. Sorry Joey No Thumbs.
Guys started shaving because it made your muscles look more defined. That is why body builder do it.

  52. nnever been waxed. considering male brazilian. would like to see results before i have it done. whats all involved?

  53. Stupid question…but how do u avoid those pesky whiteheads that u get after? I have really sensitive skin

  54. Aldo, DONT DO IT! They take EVERYTHING! Make sure you have some great pain meds if you do decide to do it.

  55. I have never had my body waxed ( not because I wouldn’t ) because other than my head & mustache I am totally smooth chest, back & ass ………

  56. I prefer hairless – both on me and other guys. It just looks better, and feels better. And I feel cleaner when I’m de-haired. Which is actually the case, because body hair retains sweat and supports the growth of bacteria… but, aside from that, I just don’t find fuzziness hot.

  57. Wax? Hell no. Laser hair removal… that is all. Sure, it’s expensive, but 3 sessions and you’ll never have that hair growing again.

  58. Actually Chris W, even with laser hair removal it is not permanent. The hair will start to grow back after a year or so, depending on a persons hairiness to begin with.

  59. to answer your question, in short order: i haven’t had any reason to wax anything on me.

my question is: will someone’s waxing [the Wild Forests] from off his body be a dealโ€ขbreaker, ladies?
