I have to admit, I’m always hopelessly behind when it comes to what’s on TV. I don’t have the attention span to binge watch, I forget when anything’s actually on, and 90% of my TV time is spent either at bedtime with Craig Ferguson or watching King of the Hill reruns. (Bobby Hill is the one TV character I best relate to.)
So, I don’t know, probably you’ve heard about The Fall? It was produced by BBC Northern Ireland, and now it’s streaming on Netflix and HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT IS SO GOOD. For several reasons. And by several, I mean many. For instance:
1. Gillian Anderson, who is a perfect human being, plays a Really Hot Older Cop Lady who has no qualms about seducing someone she literally glimpsed out a car window while passing a murder scene.
2. The plot is really, really intense. There’s a serial killer on the loose in Belfast, and we know who he is and follow his movements from roughly the third minute of the first episode.
3. The ending! I won’t tell you what it is but I basically stared at the Netflix menu for five minutes after the last episode was over because I was so dumbfounded (in a good way) by the ending.
4. The serial killer is played by Jamie Dornan. He’s brutal, evil, manipulative sadist fuck. He’s also absurdly handsome and takes his shirt off at least once in every episode.
5. Even when he has his clothes on, though, he’s so fucking handsome. And creepy. There’s one scene in the first episode where he’s sitting in his living room, watching his young daughter do a dance routine, but he’s got his arms and legs kind of spread out in the chair and his crotch is definitely a major focal point of the scene, and it’s so, so, so icky. And hot. And icky.
6. And hot. And icky. God, is he icky. And hot.
I don’t think I knew who Dornan was before. He’s an ex-model who used to do a lot of underwear shoots, and he was in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, which I really liked a long time ago. He was also on an ABC show called Once Upon A Time that I’m pretty sure I didn’t know existed.

Let’s have a whole story about Bobby Hill! I’ll bet most of us are more like him than the guys we’re jerking it to.
Yeah, it’s a very, very good show! But WTF?!?! on the ending?!?! Is there a Season 2? And Gillian Anderson with a pseudo-Northern Irish accent is kind of funny.
He is incredibly hot!

Season 2 is apparently due to start filming in February 2014.
Funnily enough Gillian Anderson was not doing a Northern Irish accent; as she was playing an English Detective Superintendent on secondment from the Metropolitan (London) Police and therefore was doing her English accent.
And he is incredibly hot!!!
