Australian duo Empire of the Sun put together a (mostly) solid set of tunes with their 2008 release Walking on a Dream. Despite my mixed feelings on their theatrics, gimmicky mythology and “MGMT meets David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King” sound, I’m curious to hear what they come up with for their sophomore album Ice on the Dune. I’ll give them that much, for sure.
Emperor Steele and Lord Littlemore (cringe) premiered the project’s lead single “Alive” not too long ago, and just yesterday, they liberated the song’s majestic new music video. Canyons! Makeup! Costumes! Stuff! If you’re familiar with these guys, you know what to expect.
