Like all superheroes, Batman and Robin are defined as much by their muscles and their crotches as by their masks and capes. I’m not sure what teenage boy of the past ninety years hasn’t, at some point, fantasized about meeting millionaire Bruce Wayne in a dark alley for a long ride on his Bat-boner. And the story of Robin—young philanthropist takes in an even younger friend and becomes his father figure, all while nobody is actually wearing pants—seems ripe for many a porn scenario.
Before now, we only had our imaginations for this, but a show up now at San Francisco’s Mission Comics & Art sheds a very different light—or several very different lights—on the decades-long relationship between the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder, aka dick-raisin’ Dick Grayson.
My first exposure to Batman was through Michael Keaton, who is really not very hot at all. Later, I got really into the campy sixties TV series, which in retrospect were really, really gay and, if the actor who played Robin is to be believed, the actors were pretty horny all the time. In his 1995 memoir My Life In Tights, actor Burt Ward describes how Batman was always getting blowjobs backstage and how his own dick was so large that he had to strap it down to get past network censors.
The show’s got a range of comics, including at least one girl-on-girl fantasy with Batgirl and Catwoman. Funny, though: While Brad Rader makes Robin’s ass look like the most fuckable thing in all of Gotham city, and while co-curator Rick Worley‘s hardcore fucking scene is great and all, I think my favorite is MariNaomi‘s much more romantic G-rated illustration.
