Does Megan Fox Suffer From A Mental Illness?

Reports have been thrown around that Transformers and Jennifer's Body actress Megan Fox may suffer from a mental illness. Speculation has been swirling after a quote from her interview with Wonderland magazine surfaced in various sources, though it isn't exactly clear how sincere her words are.

“I basically read every book ever written about Marilyn Monroe. I could end up like that because I constantly struggle with the idea that I think I’m a borderline personality—or that I have bouts of mild schizophrenia. I definitely have some kind of mental problem and I haven’t pinpointed what it is.”

Now a few things need to be taken into consideration. Megan is known for her word vomit, so this could just be a situation where she's spouting utter nonsense. Also, I'm a little skeptical that she says she struggles with "the idea that she thinks" she suffers from such a disorder.

Frankly, she shouldn't be pinpointing her problems or diagnosing herself on her own. The girl has tons of money, and she needs to see a good therapist if her suspicions are that troubling. This may be insensitive to say, but it seems like she wants so badly to be like her idol… that she even wants the baggage that comes with it.

If this isn't just a bit of attention-grabbing publicity, I commend Fox for openly discussing her mental issues and struggles. It's not common for someone to be brave enough to talk about these sort of things.

Most recently, retired gay porn star Diesel Washington confessed that he suffers from bipolar disorder. But, well, he was at least smart enough to see a doctor before engaging in any public dialogue. Kudos to him and (potential) kudos to Ms. Fox.
