Could Madonna Be The New American Idol Judge?

There have been various rumors going around that Madonna is at the top of the list to replace Simon Cowell as an American Idol judge. Whether she knows this or not is another thing…

Simon Fuller, the creator of the show, supposedly wants Madge as a judge or at least as a mentor for next season. I think she’d be a brilliant choice. She clearly knows that she’s talking about, and I don’t think she’d have a problem telling the truth when someone sucks!

I personally can’t see Madonna taking the job, but maybe we’ll get to see her as a mentor? What do you guys think of Madge as an AI judge?

  1. Would definately be interesting if she did it…maybe she would do a stint as guest judge for a few weeks…mentor would be good as well.

  2. that would certainly save american idol from sinking
but i don’t think she’ll go for it though.

and if they don’t find someone worthy, it will be pretty disappointing, cos simon is/was the “key”.

  3. I’d be shocked if she did an entire season, let alone a mentoring spot, agree with Mackenzie….

she’d be a wonderful mentor, and so many songs to choose from…. even if she is not a mentor, they should do a Madonna week…..

btw, what a great picture of her up there, she looks so fresh and happy…. I think this is from the “confessions” years….. before the last “transformation” lol

  4. I think it would be great if she became a judge. She’s one of the best performers in the world, so she obviously would know a lot about it and be a very capable judge.

Also, I think it’d be a more age appropriate job. She was awesome in the 80’s, cool in the 90’s, okay-ish but strained in the 00’s… and now it’s just getting sad. I mean, seriously. She’s old enough to be a grandmother. Now I’m not straight, but I’m sure not many straight guys want to see that gyrating on screen with a bunch of 20 year olds.

    Grow up, Madonna

  5. Who better to replace Simon than Madonna she would totally give the show the life it needs but i don’t imagine here wanting to do it

  6. Check out her guest spot on The Marriage Ref. She was great. She loves having opinions and loves to see herself as a mother/mentor. Its a great idea and something NEW which could really appeal to her. I hope its true…

  7. while she would likely be a great judge, I doubt she could make time for it under her current deal with Live Nation. She has a few albums and at least a couple tours as part of that contract, so something long term like Idol may be difficult to throw in
