Netflix continues to nab big names to star in its movies – The Formula has John Boyega leading the cast opposite Robert De Niro.
The First Purge director Gerard McMurray, who has his own Netflix history thanks to Burning Sands, will oversee the film and has also written the script. Boyega will be a Formula One racing prodigy who is forced to become a getaway driver to save the only family he has left. Shades of Drive, then, though Ryan Gosling in that film was a stunt driver who moonlighted as a getaway wheelman.
The Formula will have to wait until De Niro has finished work on David O. Russell‘s next film, while Boyega is busy shooting They Cloned Tyrone.
