Aural Only: Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Tired of all the so-called “crappy dance music” we post on Manhunt Daily? Prepare yourself for something completely different. Although I’ve heard the name Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros thrown around within the blogosphere, I didn’t get a chance to listen to them until earlier this week.

And you know what? I’m absolutely in love! Their latest single “Home” is one of the most adorable indie tunes I’ve heard in a long time, but it doesn’t go overboard by getting too adorable. Speaking of which, I kind of have the hots for the lead singer. What? He’s totally sexy in that dirty hippie kind of way! Don’t deny it.

  1. I loved these guys for years! Their live shows are amazing!! It’s good to see people recognizing them, finally!

  2. Great band and I agree with the other poster – their live shows are really really good. And personal.

Really kinda hate “Home” though. It IS too cute IMO. “40 Day Dream” and “Desert Song” are great.

  3. Yeah! I recently discovered this band too. I got their song “Janglin” from having seen them at Lollapalooza.

…altough is this too much ulture for Manhunt??

  4. Mmm, very nice. This song went pseudo-viral a while back on YouTube, as the soundtrack for a stunning Levi’s commercial (with a majorly cute guy in it). Nice to see the original.

  5. Oh no. I’ve loved them for a while. Homos who Britney Spears finding out about there music and loving Home because it’s “cute” makes me want to throw up.

  6. I saw this band live at the Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington, and they were AMAZING to say the least! 40 day dream is another AMAZING song!

  7. they are so good, but if you read more about them they are sort of similar to charles manson and his commune. yikes.
