Here’s what you need to know about Annie! She is not a singing ginger orphan. She is, in fact, a singing blonde Norwegian. She once had a cat named Joey, who was named after Joey Ramone and Joey McIntyre from New Kids On The Block, but now he’s dead, and that is the saddest thing I’ve ever typed. Oh, and also? Her debut album Anniemal (featuring production by Röyksopp and Richard X) was playing on repeat inside of my brain for the majority of 2004.
Sadly, her latest offering “Tube Stops and Lonely Hearts” hasn’t received the warmest reception from fans. This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to anyone who knows how fickle and two-dimensional pop music fans can be at times, but in their defense, the slightly claustrophobic, rave-inspired track is certainly a grower rather than a shower.
Considering it’s been a very poppy week here at Manhunt Daily with Bruno Mars, Garçon Garçon, Cher and Miley Cyrus, I’ve decided to continue with that trend by tossing “Tube Stops” aside in favor of Annie’s recent collaboration with Ralph Myerz. It’s called “Take A Look At The World”, it’s perky and optimistic, and it’s the perfect tune to bring you into the weekend.

Well I am just debbie-downer. This song is good and it’s like 95% upbeat, but there’s something in the back beats that is a little depressing, like she’s missing something and feels regret. OR that’s reading too much into a fun song
