Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone Cover

Rolling Stone Cover Adam Lambert

I know we've all been waiting on pins and needles to find out if Adam Lambert is gay or not. All the speculation was just driving me crazy! Okay, none of that was true but if your gaydar is irreparably damaged then the unveiling of Lambert's coming out Rolling Stone cover might actually be news.

His coming out didn't surprise me, and he didn't expect it to, "I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay. I've been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man. I've been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner…Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler. I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context. I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me….[Ultimately], I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."

I feel him on that, we shouldn't expect every out celebrity to be a spokesperson, but I'm glad he's at least out and proud now.

Oh, anyone else think the Britney pose just isn't working for him?

  1. This should not even be an issue. Back in the day everyone that I grew up with assumed Elton John was gay and we were suprised when he got married… We all asked the same question, “why is he doing that he’s gay”…We just dug his music and weren’t really concerned with who he was having sex with. Now it’s one of the first things people want to know about any celebrity when they come on the scene. Who’s he or she fucking…what team to they play on…It’s almost like talent no longer matters…After this article officially comes out now people will focus on who he’s having sex with just as much as his music…He won’t be labeled just a singer, he’ll be label “gay singer Adam Lambert”…When entertainers don’t profess their sexuality they are trying to tell you to judge them on their talent which, should be more important than who they are sleeping with…People say that younger gays need more roles models in order to feel more comfortable with themselves, however young people need roles models in general to make them more responsible and productive citizens…One’s sexual orientation should only be a part of their personality not everything about them.

  2. idk and idc, not going to make a difference for me. his personality rubs me the wrong way….
what bothers me most is the statement “I’ve been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner…”
if that’s what he’s like before the big fame, wonder how he’s going to behaving in 5 years…
i nvr really liked clay either, it has nothing to do with their sexuality (obviously) it just has to do w/ their personalities.
