Have you ever thought to yourself, "if the sanctity of marriage is so damn important, then straight people shouldn't be allowed to get divorces"? Well, John Marcotte, a Sacramento-based web designer, has started a movement to ban divorce in California. “Since California has decided to protect traditional marriage, I think it would be hypocritical of us not to sacrifice some of our own rights to protect traditional marriage even more,” he says.
At the time, Marcotte only has "dozens" of signatures, including one from his wife of seven years. It would take 694,354 valid signatures to get the measure on the 2010 ballot, so it's highly doubtful that the vote will actually happen. But could you imagine if it did?
