Weekly Top Ten Wild Card: Rock Hard Rockers

Are you ready to mock playing guitar on your penis? Because today’s Wild Card round is all about the ROCK! We’ve rounded up four of the freshest new tracks by bands who actually play instruments, and it’s up to you to decide which one deserves a spot on our Weekly Top Ten countdown.

Realistically, will any of them be able to break into the estrogen-fueled top five, starring none other than Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Pink? Not very likely, but it’s worth a try! Plus, we like to at least give you the option of voting for something that isn’t blatantly stereotypical.

So without further ado, we present today’s contestants–Peter, Bjorn & John, Radiohead, the Foo Fighters and The Black Keys. You only have one day to vote for your favorite selection. Take a listen to what each group has to offer, and hit the polls as soon as possible.

To listen to these selections and cast your vote, follow the JUMP:

Peter, Bjorn & John – Second Chance: This Swedish indie trio will never be able to top their breakout single “Young Folks”. Even so, we’re willing to take decent PB&J over nothing at all. “Second Chance” is the first official single from their upcoming album Gimme Some, and it’s pretty fucking decent as far as we’re concerned.

Radiohead – Lotus Flower: In which Thom Yorke dances to his own song, prompting several hilariously awkward mash-up videos. The King of Limbs is the latest “pay what you will” album from Radiohead. You may have heard that it showed up on the internet last Friday.

Foo Fighters – Rope: The Foo Fighters are back again! We say they’re “back” in the sense that 2009’s “Wheels” was a pretty bland addition to their Greatest Hits collection. This is the type of rockin’ sound we’ve come to expect from them. So why don’t you rock out with your cock out? On that note, how many times can we say “rock” before you hit us with a rock?

The Black Keys – Howlin’ For You: Though it’s difficult to actually hear this song within the fake movie trailer video, we swear it’s pretty damn good. Much like PB&J, this isn’t quite on the same level as their Grammy-winning hit “Tighten Up”, but maybe we’re just saying that because we’re a sucker for whistling…

  1. Howlin’ For You is an amazing song. I saw that video with Tricia Helfer and I thought it was a real movie!! I love her since her role in BSG so seeing her again was awesome. All in all I’d love to see that as an actual movie, but since I found it promoted the song itself, I went on and bought the actual song, which is spectacular!

  2. I voted PB&J. I loved their other two albums and I preferred the song and video over Thom’s drunken hobo dancing.

It is funny how pissed off the megafans of Radiohead get.
